Bentley Mulsanne Key Celebrates Its Centenary
Bentley's bespoke coachbuilding division, Mulliner, has designed an exclusive key case to mark the centennial of the company. Made from Dark Stained Walnut and Piano Black veneer, it includes a flying 'B' paperweight, a set of keys and a brochure that features never-before-seen 1930 8 Litre imagery.
It's the perfect present to welcome a new owner into their luxurious vehicle.
Aesthetics
Bentley is a company who takes its aesthetics seriously. It is evident in the precise positioning of its quilting, the use of leather made from cattle by-products, the wood from sustainably-managed forests, and the unique patterns of its levers. When you drive by a car like the Continental GT W12, its stunning design is accentuated by carefully selected lighting.
The Continental GT is Bentley's most sophisticated open-top vehicle. The rear tonneau of Continental GT, for instance was the biggest piece of dark-stained Burr Walnut veneer that was book-matched. Similarly, the electrically-operated glass sunroof and champagne cooler that incorporated hand-blown and hand-cut lead crystal bottles marked a new benchmark in luxury and innovation.
It is this bespoke design, attention to detail and craftsmanship to detail that have established bentley key fob programming (

The firm continues to push the boundaries by utilizing the most advanced technology and manufacturing techniques, such as the introduction of an instrument cluster with digital technology, an electric tilt-opening rear glass sunroof, a handcrafted docking station for Apple iPads and electrochromic "smart" glass that can be switched between opaque and transparent by pressing the button.
A century since its founding, Bentley - now under sole Volkswagen ownership after years of fighting with BMW and BMW - celebrated its centennial in 2019. Prior to pandemic planning taking place, the marque held a series of special events and launches planned to celebrate this historic occasion.

It has an enormous 'B' design that lets everyone know you're driving a Bentley. It's also engraved with the years 1919 and 2019 to commemorate the company's centenary.
The Mulsanne was revamped and redesigned by Bentley Mulliner in order to be the ultimate Grand Touring car. The rear seats are designed to provide passengers with unmatched comfort and privacy. They were inspired by the luxury private aircraft. The custom heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system was designed to give each passenger the perfect temperature control.

Function
The Bentley Mulsanne key has an opening button for the trunk and a second button which starts the car. It also has a button to turn on the parking break. There is a knob to fold and unfold the mirrors when parked in tight areas. This feature helps you get in and out of your vehicle.
The key is constructed from vegetable tanned leather. It takes two days to craft each one. The key is cut by hand, shaped, stitched to seal, and polished to produce a premium result. It is durable compact and fits the Bentley key perfectly. Its design is similar to the Volkswagen Phaeton large car's key, but it feels much heavier and has a more luxurious feel.
It also has Secure-A-Key which prevents theft of keys without keypads. This device is inserted into the remote control fob, and is disabled if the key is not used for a few minutes. It stops thieves from transmitting the key's frequency to other devices that can unlock and start the car.
Bentley's distinctive design reflects the company's values of exquisite craftsmanship, engineering expertise, and modern technology. The headquarters in Crewe is home to more than 4,000 workers who are responsible for the design, development and production of Bentley vehicles. These workers apply the skills that have been handed through generations to the latest automotive technologies. This is British manufacturing at its best.
Personalisation
Bentley's bespoke division, Mulliner, allows customers to design their own car. Guests sit at a series of images, referred to "mood stations" and choose a selection of images ranging from scenic views to sporting events that can inspire them. Every time a choice is made the pattern that emerges shows the model preference for color, style and design for the personalized Bentley.
The configuration that is created is then loaded onto individual R.F.I.D.-enabled keys that are then presented to guests in a hand-crafted key case. Keys can be outfitted with Bentley Muliner Personalised welcome lamps that illuminate the path of the door opening with the owner's name or logo as they approach the car.
Bentley estimates that it takes around 500 man-hours to build and construct the Mulsanne. The inability to adopt modern technology is the key to this time-consuming effort. The Crewe factory workers don't use a machine to space perfectly-matched leather seats. Instead they do it by hand. And rather than using the car's built-in sensors to guide it into parallel and perpendicular parking spots the drivers must perform the task by hand.
The event also saw Bentley presented its Mulliner personalization capabilities using one particular example of the Mulsanne W.O. The Mulsanne W.O. Edition pays tribute to the man who founded the company, William Osler Bentley. The limited-edition cars come with a special key that displays a portion of the 1930 8 Liter's crankshaft.
