The Best Robot Hoover

The best robot hoover can mop and vacuum without needing your attention. It will leave your floors spotless. Its price is surprisingly low and features that are high-end (such as dirt detection) are pluses.

Some models will automatically empty their dust bin on board into a larger bin at the base, which reduces the amount of fine dust that is released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive counterpart the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we've test. They are equipped with motors that are top-of-the line and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. Like other iRobots with premium features (including the top model), they use intelligent mapping to design precise floorplans and avoid household obstacles like cords and furniture legs. The robots also come with a feature called Carpet Boost that increases its power when it detects dirt on the carpet.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored excellently in our tests of floors with no carpet, and they are particularly adept at cleaning hair from dogs. There are some issues, however, that prevent them from being our top choice. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is its navigation system doesn't have AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's thus susceptible to become stuck on shoes and socks and could not navigate densely packed rooms very well in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera that would let it see the corners of a room.

However, it's a good choice, especially if you want to save money on a iRobot Roomba and you have a mostly unfinished home or office. It's also very quiet and operates when you're at work or in school. The only thing it's missing that you don't get in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. It's also less effective in mopping, relying on disposable wet wipes that don't hold on for long and don't take on dried-on debris. The Q5 is self-emptying cradle however. If you're required to clean the mopping pad, it can be changed for one that is wet in just a few just a few seconds.

2. IRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive vacuuming and mopping capabilities into a compact, sleek package. Its intelligent cleaning maps as well as fluid navigation make it simple to clean and effective in tackling larger particles such as pet hair. It also has an impressive suction system and an automatic bin for emptying. It's the best robot vacuum that mops robotic hoover for carpets but it falls behind some competitors when it comes to deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mops utilizes sensors that help it avoid obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the patterns of your home over time to ensure better cleaning. The app allows you to modify zones and alter the cleaning robot mop and vacuum schedule. Its battery life is average in comparison to other models.

When the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can instruct it to pull back and extend its mop. This will help prevent cross-contamination. The flex arm can be used to reach under furniture that is low and along baseboards. However, it doesn't have the same washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro+ as well as the iRobot Combo j9+.

During testing during testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop that could complete the entire house with 66 percent of its battery left. It also did a great job of cleaning a mix of rooms and floors with mixed flooring types, including certain area carpets. Its obstacle detection was top notch, and it nimbly avoided fake dog socks, turds, and bundles of cables.

It's a little more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after vacuuming it, something we haven't seen in other robotic autonomous vacuum/mop combos.

3. IRobot Roomba X40

This robot vacuum and mop combination has a sleek, circular design that looks more like the regular Roomba unit than the boxy models from the rivals. It is one of our most appealing looking robot vacuums. The newest model from iRobot is among the most intelligent, with advanced features including Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).

It's also the only robotic vacuum or mop that scored the perfect 10/10 out of 10 in our tests. This is due to a mix of modern sensors, including a restructured light system, camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mops.

Like other iRobot models like the X40 is user-friendly, offering an easy mobile app interface, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. The only downside is that the X40 still a loud unit. This can be a problem in mornings before work or in the evening when you are trying to fall asleep.

It's also quite expensive, although it's not as pricey as the Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 MaxV Ultra Both of which are similarly capable and more attractive. This is a dual-purpose vacuum that's very capable, but it's going to cost you more and produce more noise.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the best robot mop and vacuum. It has a number of features that are advanced and will help you forget your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning machine like Ecovacs' top-of-the-range X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It features a multi-functional dock that can automatically empty the vacuum's bin and fills up the water tank, as well as washes and dry the mop pads.

The smart robot vacuum reviews makes use of LIDAR and structured lighting to draw out floorplans and identify obstacles. It is more efficient in its navigation than its top competitors. It also has a camera mounted on the front for real-time hazard detection however, it wasn't 100% foolproof during our tests and was often confused by power cords or other obstructions.

Its vacuum has a high suction capacity of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to get the job done. It also has an attribute known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts cleaning frequency for various areas of the house based on how dirty the areas tend to be.

For larger houses it's worth looking for models with spot or zone cleaning modes that allow you to tell the robot to clean one particular area of your home via the app or via voice commands. A stairway mode is beneficial if you have number of furniture. Finally the recharge and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to pick up right where it left off is ideal for busy families.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is more advanced than its price would suggest. It's a pro at cleaning, removing 55% of the debris that was found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using one pad, which uses an oscillating motion that is cleaner than the other mop cleaners for robots we've examined. It's self-sufficient too, with a fully-featured app as well as a self-emptying, washable base.

The well-designed iRobot app guides you through an initial mapping run that gathers information about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you have marked on the map. You can use it to make cleaning schedules, arrange the perfect spot for cleaning or sort out your rooms with the most dirt to ensure better performance. The app comes with a variety of features, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping and advanced cleaning settings.

Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuums, which means it can reach corners and under furniture more easily. It has an impressive 8,000 Pascal suction and clever combs for removing pet hair. You can also create a spot-clean that scours a specific area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek more affordable alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive design, similar to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed like cute little eyes. It does a good job vacuuming but is more prone to getting caught on low thresholds and is a bit noisier than the other top robotic vacuums we've tried. It also has a less intuitive app and a tiny base station that doesn't double as an emptying bin.
