Top Black Friday and Cyber Monday Robot Vacuum Deals
This is your time to own a robotic vacuum. CNET's top-rated models are on sale this Black Friday and Cyber Monday with savings of up to 57%.
The Roborock Q7 Max offers strong pressure and smart mapping, with apps-based no-go zones. its 180-minute runtime is impressive. It also self-empties and automatically refills its water tank.
1. Roomba j7+ from iRobot
The Roomba j7+ is iRobot's smartest robot vacuum to date. Its biggest innovation is its camera-based obstacle-detection system. It uses AI to recognize objects such as charging cables and shoes. It's the first robot to send you a picture of an object that it encounters, meaning you can instruct that it is safe to avoid it.
The Combo J7+ is the best robot to mop we've ever tested, removing spills and dirt with ease without leaving any trace that was there. The iRobot app makes it easy to control. You can schedule cleanings, and also create Keep Out Zones to ensure it doesn't clean in areas you don't wish to. And it's compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can turn it on and off with your voice.
The design is also superior to the competition. It has a sleek, high-end piece that resembles toys rather than a loud and obnoxious
robot vacuum cleaner. The Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal System automatically empty which is great to speed up cleaning.
In our tests the j7+ was quick to clean up dust, dirt and pet hair. The counter-rotating rubber brushes kept the debris in one spot rather than sending it scattering across the floor. It even managed to capture sand and small gravel, which most other robots couldn't do. It did all without getting caught up in our pet's hair.
The j7+, although not as intelligent as the $1,217 Roomba S9+ Self-Emptying Vacuum Robot from iRobot and isn't able to clean the stairs, is an excellent choice for those who need both mopping and vacuum. It's not too expensive, and the iRobot application makes it user-friendly to use.
The iRobot Home App is easy to use but we found it less reliable than other robotic cleaner applications. It can take a long time to download updates, and at times it's hard to determine whether the update actually working until you see it in action.
2. Roborock Q5+
When you're looking for an
automated vacuum cleaner that can do more than just clean floors, your best choice is probably hybrid. This kind of robot usually has a built-in water tank that allows them to vacuum and mop your home simultaneously. They also come with a variety of extra features, including smart mapping, small object avoidance, and the possibility of washing and re-drying mopping pads. The negative is that they can be expensive when purchased at full retail price, but on Black Friday and Cyber Monday they often drop in price.
Roborock makes several of our top robotic vacuums and the Q5+ doesn't perform to the standards. It's their cheapest auto-empty model, and although it doesn't have some of the features you'll find on higher-end models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's still a great choice if you're willing to sacrifice a bit to save some hundred dollars.
The Q5+ is extremely gentle when it comes down to obstacles like tables and walls. This makes it an excellent choice for homes that have lots of furniture. It's also extremely thorough in cleaning up dust bunnies. This is a area where many robot vacuums that are less expensive aren't able to meet. The Q5+'s navigation is top-quality, with a few misses on walls and corners.
Like other Roborock devices, the Q5+ can be controlled using the buttons on the device or through the Roborock app. With the app you can start and stop cleaning, set schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go zones, and alter your home map, or change the labeling of rooms.
If you opt for the Q5+ it comes with a new auto-emptying dock that's designed to make the
robot hoover easier to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver, but once it's installed emptying the bin is done without difficulty. It has a large LCD screen, which is useful in setting up schedules and changing settings. This isn't a necessity for most people but it will help you keep track of the maintenance intervals for your robot effortlessly.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot mop and vacuum that's astonishingly smart in both its vacuuming and mopping capabilities. Its design is one of the
best robot hoover in the industry however it's quite expensive.
It is a relatively small base station that looks stunning and is easily hidden when not in use. The primary selling point of the station is that it can automate many tasks, functions, and chores that other robots would leave to you. It stores clean and dirty water, electrolyzes and heats the water (which many other robots require you to do) and empty the dust bin after vacuuming, and helps keep your robot charged and clean.
And its vacuuming is impressive and efficient, too. It's the few robot vacuums I've tried that does an excellent job of picking up debris on bare floors, and it's not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot the 900 series.
The Freo X Ultra is not without flaws, especially when it comes to navigation. Its LiDAR and laser sensors aren't as reliable as some other robovacs, which means it can get stuck or confused in certain areas or rooms of the home. It's not able to navigate stairs as well as some competitors, and doesn't come with a dock that lets you to set up an area for cleaning that is specifically designed for carpets with plush padding.
Although it doesn't provide as many in terms of cleaning options available in its app, or as many shortcuts in the app as other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still an excellent choice for anyone looking for a comprehensive mop and robot vacuum that's worth the price cost.
If you're looking to save some money, or just don't care about the limitations of this machine, there are plenty of other great choices available with a wide range of eufy models that cost considerably less. The eufy Qrevo Curv, for example is less expensive and offers an identical experience on the app with more features like the ability to climb stairs, a full-function dock, and better overall vacuuming performance on bare floors and low and high-pile carpets.
4. Eufy RoboVac G30
eufy, an Anker company is a long-standing leader of creating robot vacuums that strike a good balance between features, performance and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning power for hard and carpeted flooring, and a mopping function at an affordable price. It's easy to set up, simply attach one of the side brush and then turn it on. Then connect the charging dock. The app will guide you through the steps required to connect your G30 to your Wi-Fi. It is recommended to keep the dock near an electrical outlet and enough space to allow it to move however.
The G30 is tiny, 2.85 inches tall to be precise, which means it will fit under many sofas and other furniture with low clearance. Its design is less ostentatious than some rival models, and features sleek black finish and three buttons that are physical: Auto Cleaning start/pause, Recharge and Spot Cleaning (which scrubs an area in spiral patterns for 2 minutes). You can also connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to conduct cleaning without a schedule using voice commands.
The primary characteristic that distinguishes the G30 apart from most competitors is the way it cleans. It uses an integrated map to draw an image of the unmovable objects in its path. It keeps track of what it has already cleaned and where it cannot access. When it's time to recharge, it returns to its starting point and begins cleaning where it left off.
The elegant G30 has a few issues. The iRobot Roomba is better built and has lower cost of operation. It is faster to charge, has the same battery life and performs better on bare floors or low-pile carpet. It has a larger dust bin that does not require as much emptying. It also comes with border strips that block it from certain areas. The G30 on the other hand, is more affordable and a lot more manageable to maintain. Its smaller size means that it doesn't need to be emptied as often, and it has less difficulty with bulky items like cereal.
