Diablo 4 Item Upgrades

Item upgrades allow players to increase the Best item upgrade level of equippable items like weapons, armor, and trinkets up to a certain amount. You can upgrade items at any NPC that accepts the appropriate currency.

Slots are used to upgrades to equipment to gain attributes and bonuses, as well as other effects. The majority of these upgrades are slot-restricted however some are universal.

Rerolling

After rerolling, the item level upgrade can still be enchanted.

Genshin Impact allows players to purchase and utilize other mechanics, in addition to rerolling to improve their gacha results. There are some sets that come with set bonuses that can provide additional effects when Link is wearing the full set. They are beneficial in certain situations, like when exploring the Gerudo Desert or in a Dungeon. The Desert Voe Set, for example, has a Stealth Up feature that makes it easier to sneak past enemies.

There are also universal upgrades that can be fitted into any type of equipment. These upgrades provide smaller benefits than those that are type-restricted, but they are a lot easier to acquire. Some of these upgrades are gems, that can be made by the jeweler's workshop, and can be used in any trinket slot. Other upgrade components can only be slotted in weapon accessories and provide a small bonus without increasing damage.

Requirements

These can be salvaged by using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or Ascended Salvage tool.

Upgrading an item can cost gold and/or Dilithium, depending on the item type. Additionally, many upgrades require Flightstones or crests. The amount of crests or Flightstones required to upgrade an item depends on the gear's level, and a maximum upgrade level is determined by Blizzard. Upgrades to the highest level are expensive especially when it comes to upgrading PvE gear.

Upgrades can also alter the weapon's ammunition or damage die size. They can also alter its special weapon properties like its heavy or operative property, or hand requirement. Some upgrades can change the appearance of a weapon.

While boosting stats is the main goal of item level upgrade upgrades however, you must consider the costs associated with upgrading an item before making the decision. You may prefer to make use of your gold to upgrade rare items, but do not spend it on common or magical-tier items. These items are not worth upgrading, and rare items will soon surpass them.
