Bedside Cot ReviewsA bedside crib, also known as a baby bassinet, is placed next to your bed to ensure that you can safely attend to your baby during night feedings and nappy-changings without needing to leave the bed. These cribs are fantastic for fostering independence in your child as they become more comfortable in their own space to sleep.
The Joie Roomie Glide
The Joie Roomie Glide crib is a
bedside crib that turns into cot crib which allows parents to stay with their infant while ensuring that they are sleeping safely. Its smooth gliding motion is able to soothe your baby into sleep and its innovative features ensure that you can monitor them without leaving your own bed.
The sliding side panel of the cot can be lifted and lowered with just a push of a single button. This makes it simple to reach inside and soothe a baby in the night. It also comes with 11 height adjustments that let it fit the mattress of almost any size bed and it comes with adjustable feet that fold down to ensure it sits at just the right level.
In terms of safety the cot is cushioned and comes with mesh sides to provide more ventilation, while its mattress is made from high-density foam to provide extra protection. It's also able to be cleaned so that you can keep it clean. Additionally, it is fitted with a sheet that's suitable for use with the cot.
Unlike some other
large bedside cot cribs unlike other cribs for bedside use, the Roomie Glide is suitable for the majority of beds, including divans due to its straps and clip attachment. It can be used as a stand-alone crib when it is not connected to the bed. It comes with a variety of amazing features designed with parent and baby bonding in mind.
The most important thing to keep in mind is that although this crib is perfect for babies, it won't last long after your little one turns six months old, which means you'll require an additional cot. However, overall Roanna thought that the Joie Roomie Glide was a excellent purchase and she especially liked its sleek design.
John Lewis sells the Roomie Glide for PS160. Roanna thought this was a reasonable price for an item. She also liked the way it was positioned in the bedroom and believed that the grey color is a good fit for modern homes. However, she pointed out that it isn't a great idea to rock a younger baby, as it can create an unhealthy habit that can affect later sleep patterns.
The Tutti Bambini CoZee
The Tutti Bambini CoZee bedside crib is designed to give you the best sleep possible. It features a drop-side rail that is able to be easily adjusted to feed your child at night without disturbing them or getting out of the bed. This is ideal for breastfeeding mothers! It is also lightweight and easy to move around during nap time or when traveling.
It's made of soft material and features breathable mesh sides to promote airflow. It is available in oak or charcoal with a variety of melange fabrics that will blend with most decor styles. Anna found it to be sturdy and secure after being affixed to her bed. The legs slid into place and the zippers were secure for security. It took her about 10 minutes to put together and didn't require tools, with clear instructions and a video as well as a customer support number if you run into any problems.
As well as the usual features you'd expect from a
bedside cot reviews crib, like being able to attach to your existing bed using a stay-in place connection system and six height levels, the CoZee has an additional incline option which can be used to alleviate reflux or congestion in babies. It can also be washed by a machine essential for all the spills and vomit that come with a newborn baby!
The CoZee is a fantastic option to keep your child in the first six months of learning to sleep independently. It can be used as a cot, changing station and toddler bed. It can also be transformed into a sofa bed by the addition of an extension pack. While it isn't able to feed your baby, or magically make them sleep, it will rock them to send them off!
The Chicco Next2Me Magic
This is one of Chicco's more expensive options. It does have many amazing features. It can be used either a side-sleeper or a standalone crib, and is suitable for babies from birth to six months. It is easy to open and close the side panel with the new mechanism. It's also more adjustable than its predecessor with 11 different height levels and feet that retract to fit under any bed.
Our testers loved the ease of access provided by the side panel that can be moved up and down with one click of a button. This was an enormous help during night time feeds as it meant that they could easily reach inside and take their baby away without disturbing them up.
It is possible to lower the side panel by itself but this is not recommended, since it increases the likelihood that your baby will be thrown out of the cot. However, the safety locking mechanism ensures that it can only stay down when attached to the bed properly. This is a wonderful feature to have for peace mind, especially if you're breastfeeding and require frequent nighttime feedings.
The Chicco Next2Me Magic is designed to be compatible with any bed that is divan-based as well as beds with drawers thanks to the telescopic legs. It comes with a tilting function for reflux babies, and a rocking function to help soothe them to sleep after eating. It's also very spacious and offers excellent ventilation thanks to its mesh sides.
The Next2Me Magic was easy to use and set up for our testers, despite the lengthy instruction manual. It is a little heavier than other side-sleepers but it can still be easily moved from one place to another. It's small enough to be able to fit in a travel bag when not in use, which is an advantage in the event that you have to transport it. The only downside our testers found was that the side panel did not flex as much as the other models, which made it a little harder to see your baby from your own bed.
The Shnuggle Air
If you're looking for an ideal bedside crib that can expand with your child then the Shnuggle Air is definitely worth a look. It is designed to be a co-sleeping bassinet that is attached to your bed, but can also convert into a stylish cot when your baby is ready, it's ideal for feeding at night and fostering a bond with your infant.
In contrast to other cribs for bed The Shnuggle Air is built with breathability in mind. Its dual-view mesh side panels and the airflow mattress, which is hypoallergenic and breathable maximise airflow to keep your baby cool and comfortable. A gentle incline helps to reduce colic and reflux, while the zip down side makes it easy to feed or soothe your baby at night.
The cot conversion kit (sold separately) is also well-designed, with clear instructions and everything you need to start. It took us an hour to put together and was fairly straightforward. The only drawback was the lack of written captions on a few of the images, which made it difficult to follow certain steps. Overall, it was a straightforward procedure and the quality of the materials used was high.
The Shnuggle Air is a great choice for women who are breastfeeding or have had an e-csection. It allows them to reach out and hold their baby to comfort them and feeding without leaving their bed. It's also great for mothers who want to avoid the hassle of getting in and out of a traditional cot, or putting their baby down for a nap.
The gliding motion was found to be extremely helpful in lulling babies into sleep following meals during the midday or at night. The drop-down side makes it easy to feed or soothe babies throughout the night. This was a major selling point for our exhausted test moms. Although it doesn't rock or have extra features, like an audio system, the Joie Roomie Glide's sleek design and functional features are a welcome addition to our best bedside crib reviews.
