WoW Upgrades - The item upgrade Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item upgrade by +3. Each upgrade also boosts a random substat.

The upgraded gear typically has a more value in trade as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variation (like eth titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as valuable for those with lower requirements because of the requirement to roll the perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade gear to a higher item upgrader kit level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be made on any kind of armor or weapons. However, the item used for the upgrade will remain in use for a long time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enhancements.

The upgrader can be found in all major cities, and is accessible at any time to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended to visit the upgrader every few weeks, to keep your equipment up to date.

Upgrades will cost more, based on the level of the item, however they'll always be cheaper than buying new equipment. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapon, armor, tool, and accessory upgrades. They are purchased by players from item upgrader NPCs in exchange for different currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any weapon, tool or armor. The button will show the item level Upgrade's next level of upgrade, in the event that there are enough materials.

Upgrade costs vary depending on the item slot, and the current level of the item. For example weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with certain upgrades offering discounts to reduce the cost of the Flightstones or crests that are used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain amount and is degraded, it can be sold and returned to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currencies.

Many locations have upgraders for their items which include the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount and the chance to acquire a new upgrade items recipe. The upgrade discount increases as more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players complete certain achievements or quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the start, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. Instead, the NPCs that can be used to upgrade require several methods, which is both an improvement as well as a disadvantage.

In Season 3, the upgrade system has been modified a bit, and some new features added. After a player has earned an upgrade to a particular level of an item for a specific armor slot, upgrading additional items to that same item level will be less expensive, even when they are part of another set of gear.

The discount applies to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is cut as well, but is only available after certain milestones are reached.

Crests

When it comes to upgrading equipment in WoW, players have a couple of choices. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more special and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are an integral part of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System that was introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.

The first thing to be aware of is that crests are only able to be used on equipment that is of a particular rank, and that each rank has different requirements for upgrading. The simplest and easiest upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complex upgrade could require as much as 20 crests, depending on the type of gear that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by working through tasks at the appropriate level. This could be done by engaging in outdoor activities or taking on dungeons and raids of any difficulty to earn equipment of lower tier or Mythicbosses for raids, or dungeons with heroic difficulty for endgame gear. These crests can then be exchanged at an upgrader NPC like Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade routes and steps.

Using these new currencies isn't that difficult however, the system will introduce a few changes to the overall upgrade process. For instance, once an item reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This is to allow players to upgrade their equipment up to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also essential to use crests in a wise manner, as they only have one use. It is best to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the Best item upgrader gear you can find, and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is especially true for items such as trinkets and rings that take up several slots. The account-wide discount will only be applicable if all slots on the character are filled with top-quality equipment.
