Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and clean provide the convenience of cleaning both dry debris and wet mess in one time, without having to switch devices. They can also reduce space compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models with docks that let them automatically empty their bins, fill their water tanks and machine-wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It has a lot to offer for its low cost, and it's one of the easiest robots we've tested to install. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and an easy-to-follow guide will have you running with a clean, complete dust bag, floor solution for hard floors and water tank in a matter of minutes.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and best automatic vacuum and mop well. The mops spin at high speeds and exert 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, which makes short work of dirt, pet hair and dried sticky spills. The best automatic vacuum and mop comes with four power modes, a variety of attachments and brushes, and a user-friendly application that lets you select the kind of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.

For example, you can decide to let the robot clean up the living and kitchen but take it easy in the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front colision sensors and smart navigation tech are excellent too and the robot is capable of detecting small obstacles that other models struggle with. The only drawback is that it tends to crash into objects and walls at full speed. However looking at the cleaning history on the app will tell you exactly what the robot hoover and mop completed, where it's moving, and what obstacles it has stumbled upon or avoided.

The docking station comes with an LCD display that shows the time when maintenance is required for cleaning up debris and washing the dirty water tank. It's also able to mix detergent automatically into the water tank using a 600ml bottle of the eufy's solution.

Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop are able to run for a long time and the mop is able to operate for up to 184 minutes in quiet mode and the vacuum can last for 136 minutes in standard mode before having to recharge or return to the base to refill. And you can see the complete cleaning details within the app, which is well laid out and easy to understand although we would like to be able distinguish between a mop only vacuum and a vacuum/mop clean when examining a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's flagship robot vacuum and mop is the most up-to-date version. Unlike last year's model this one has two agitators in its mopping pad which significantly enhances its carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has an improved suction capacity, allowing it to pick up fine hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners might be unable to pick up.

Like the two other Roborock models I've tested the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology to can help it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further by incorporating two cameras that can recognize objects, and determine if they are walls or other surfaces. It can then automatically change its path and clean around the objects without a pause.

It's the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed but it's also the most packed with features. Its sleek and angular design is attractive and it has only three physical buttons: the power button, which also resumes cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock and a home button that can bring the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid opens up to reveal a 350ml dustbin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank will empty itself and the bin auto-filling.

The only downside I've discovered with this model was that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't movable. It is possible to replace the mopping cloth when needed, but it's difficult to take the mount off to wash it manually. I've noticed that any carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener on mounts, which could cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a number smart features including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can set up and manage these through the Roborock app, which is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor the battery life and maintain your components. You'll have to go through a few steps to enable voice control on this model. This is a shame considering how well-performing it is otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a leader in the industry with innovative features, superior suction power, and advanced mowing capabilities. Its intelligent design allows for customized and efficient cleaning while reducing time.

The X40 is the first robotic vacuum cleaner to deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which makes it one of the top options available. This powerful vacuum cleans up dry debris, including pet hair and dust. It has a mop of excellent quality that can clean hard floors without the need for a pad. The X40 is also extremely quiet when in operation and only occasionally bursting during mode changes or self-maintenance.

Another standout feature is the X40's expandable and liftable side brush which lets it get into hard-to-reach corners and intimately clean furniture such as table and chair legs. It also allows the robot vacuum with mop to access low-profile furniture making it an ideal option for apartments or condos with limited space. The side brush also automatically tilts down when detecting wet spots, which is a nice feature that assists the X40 keep floors safe from damage caused by excessive back-and-forth movements.

Contrary to other robots which only focus on one thing, the X40 can do mopping and vacuuming simultaneously or in a series. It can be programmed to mop only the hard floors, and skip carpeted areas, and vice versa. It can be controlled by the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operations.

The app is easy to use and understand and the X40 has many smart features that are simple to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times. It can also be adjusted to adjust suction power, switch modes, view maps and floor plans, and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also keep track of its progress and notify you when it is finished.

The X40 is easy to maintain and has many features that make it a great choice for busy families. Its docking station automatically empties the trash bin into a 3.2 L bin, washes the mop pads, then refills them with clean water and cleaning solution. It can also detect when the mop pad is full and alert you before it overflows, reducing the requirement for manual maintenance.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that is among the most expensive models available and comes with many extra features that set it apart. Smart DuoScrub is a brand new feature of its mop, utilizes two mop heads with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. This is higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also clean pet hair, dirt particles, and clean up spills and soiled spots.

The mop mops are cleaned and dried in the base station each time they are used. This is an excellent feature since it prevents the build-up of odours and mould in storage, and also makes mop systems more efficient. This is a feature we haven't yet seen on other robot vacuum and mop models, and it could be a useful way of keeping your home clean for longer.

There are plenty of choices, including the possibility to schedule cleanings and change preferences. These can be set via the app or direct buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and provides a variety of options for customizing the cleaning routine. Additionally, there are a lot of functions that other robots don't include, such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power whenever it detects dust particles, rather than using an individual setting.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most stylish robots we've seen on market, with a white and metallic design that is elegant and stylish. It's a little heavier than the other two-in-one robots on this list - at around 4kg however it's not overly heavy either, and it feels sturdy and well-built. Mopping is also well-designed, and the double rotating mops work well on hard floors as well as in corners. The MopExtend feature lets them extend up to 2mm below the baseboards.
