The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst at Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.

robot-vacuum-mops-logo-text-black-png-original.jpgHe evaluates and tests cleaning equipment. His main focus is mopping and robot vacuum combinations. These multitaskers can be an excellent choice for those who are looking to eliminate mopping from their list of tasks. Some have great mapping capabilities and obstacles avoidance. Some wash and refill mopping pads themselves for a hands-free cleaning.

The Eufy S1 Pro

If you're looking to buy a robot vacuum that also mop, this is the model to look for. It's smaller than other options, making it easier to maneuver in tight spaces or under furniture. It features a 220 degree lidar that combined with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the most effective navigation and obstacle avoidance I've ever seen in a robotic vacuum. It's powered by a 4600mAh battery which can last up to 170 mins when cleaning and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can run longer on turbo). It will even return to its dock to recharge its battery in mid-clean.

It's extremely fast and does an excellent job of cleaning my two-bedroom apartment. It is able to vacuum carpeted rooms quickly and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen, and hallways with just one pass. Its motor of 8,000pa is able to remove dirt hair, pet hair, and even droppings easily. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects carpets, and the dual side brush assists in removing debris from corners.

The mopping performance is a little less impressive, though not by much. The mop's rotating motor spins at a high velocity and is pushed down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly scrubbing up dirt and stains. I've also noticed that the front arms stick out slightly more than other robots, which is helpful for getting into tight corners and along baseboards. The same front arms can be employed to clean up larger debris, like broken toys and fallen books.

Another good thing is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mop I've ever tried. It doesn't make the same amount of noise when mopping or vacuuming and is quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only drawback is that the S1 Pro must use a specific cleaning solution to perform mopping, and is sold separately from the vacuum. It is easy to install, and it works well. However, if you are buying this robot vacuum solely to mop, you will need to pay attention to this.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It is a powerful cleaner with a range of features.

The device is equipped with a powerful and impressive cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensors and an RGB camera to map your home and detect furniture and other obstacles. It can then use this information to clean methodically and efficiently. This will ensure an even and thorough clean and is also quick.

In terms of mopping, Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads are capable of reaching many different surface areas. This includes corners, baseboards and other hard to reach areas. The side brush can be stretched to reach the floor close to the walls or other fixtures. The mop pads are also washable and can be dried to reduce odors and prevent buildup.

Another notable feature is the app-based customization options. The Q Revo lets you alter the suction intensity and choose a back-and forth or slightly random pattern. You can also choose the number of passes which will determine the speed at which it can move around your home. You can also choose to turn off the side brush to avoid damaging carpets and rugs.

It's expensive, but it comes with a lot of smart features. It's important to remember that it carries regular expenses in the form of mopping equipment and maintenance. For example, the brushroll will need to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to 12 months. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hours, and the mop pad must be replaced every three to six months.

The robot vacuum mop cleaner robot mop is a top Amazon rating and includes a wide range of physical automation features. The robot vacuum also comes with a power button which doubles as a 'Clean button' and a Home button that allows it to go back home after cleaning. It also comes with a multifunctional dock which automatically empty the trash bin, fills up its water tank, and cleans and dry its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

If you're a busy professional or someone who wants to have a clean home without spending a lot of time on chores then the Shark Matrix Plus is a good choice. It has powerful performance, intelligent navigation, and a long battery life that makes it simple to keep your home clean with minimal effort.

The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop which means it is able to handle both vacuuming and mopping. The robot is divided into two modules, a dry bin and water tank that can be easily snapped in and out and a mopping unit that has a microfiber pad. Separate modules for vacuuming and mopping may appear a bit dated however, they mean you don't have to think about changing disposable bags or refueling the tank with water.

Our testers found that the Matrix Plus did a great job of vacuuming and mopping. Its Best robot vacuum cleaner UK feature was its precise floorplan, which it uses to determine an outline for cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate effortlessly between rugs, furniture, and other obstacles. The app also offers the option to set "No-Go zones" as well as virtual barriers, which can help to protect certain areas of your house from being swept with mop.

We also discovered that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in removing hair of pets. It was able to capture some of the hair that shed by our cats, and even made it into the corners and crevices of our stairs where other robots had struggled. The noise levels were low, and there were some nice jingles to signal that it was beginning and finishing its work.

Its main drawbacks were its simplistic app and the requirement to switch between the modules to switch between mopping and vacuuming. The app can't store multiple maps. This can be a problem if your home has multiple floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a great choice for those who want a smart device that can mop and vacuum.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive of our review. It does however, have some unique features which make it worth considering. The X1 Omni's most appealing feature is its massive dock, which doubles as the robot's charging base and housing for two 4 liter water tanks, a clean sink and a 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically empties.

The base also has a variety of control buttons that let you manually start cleaning, recall the robot, or run the dock's auto-emptying process. Press two buttons to toggle the child lock. This is a wonderful feature for parents who are concerned about their kids messing around with the automatic vacuum and mop robot.

Like other best robotic mop and vacuum vacuums the X1 Omni utilizes its camera to identify furniture and obstacles in its path and eliminate them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

Unfortunately, this means that the X1 Omni could occasionally get caught up in an obstacle--such as a power cord draped across a rug that it becomes stuck and stops working until you free it. Although this is not a common occurrence but it was a very frustrating experience when it happened particularly since the X1 Omni doesn't have a "stuck" status alert on its app.

The X1 Omni isn't able to automatically switch from mopping to vacuuming mode during cleaning. You'll have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad, except that the mopping pad isn't cleaned or dried between use. This can cause mildew and mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed its sleek modern base and mopping pad. It's a significant departure from the utilitarian all-black bases of rivals like Roborock or iRobot. And it's a welcome sight for an industry dominated by boxes.
