There are some issues however, which hinder them from being our first choice. For instance, the Q5's navigation system does not include AI-powered obstacle avoidance which means it's susceptible to become entangled in shoes and socks and can't navigate rooms with a lot of people efficiently in our tests. It doesn't also come with a camera to look around corners.

It's still a good value, especially if your home or office has a lot of bare floors and you're looking to save money. Plus, it's very quiet and can work while you're at work or going to school. The only thing it lacks that you won't find in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. It's also less effective at mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 does have self-emptying docks, however. And, if you need to, you can switch the mopping pad to dry ones in a matter of just a few seconds.

This robot vacuum and mop combination is sleek and has a circular design that appears more like the regular Roomba model than the bulky units of the competitors. It's one of our most attractive robot cleaner with mop vacuums. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that is fully self-refill and empty its base station and it has an the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.

The X40 as with other iRobot products, is simple to operate. It has an intuitive mobile app interface that is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only issue is that it's loud that could be an issue if you use it in the morning prior to work or in the evening as you try to sleep.

It's also a bit costly however, not as much as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally powerful and more attractive. If you're willing to put up with a little more noise and a little more cost this is a efficient two-in-one device that should please almost everyone.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra
