World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
The upgrade of an item allows players to boost the gear score of an
item level upgrade to 700 and add an additional perk. Items can be upgraded by having them in inventory, and then taking them to the kiln.
Certain items are worth upgrading due to their distinctive stats. (For example, a perfectly roll breakpoint armor is used in melee PvP). Other items such as weapons don't really change after an upgrade, and aren't worth it.
Weapons
Weapons can be upgraded to boost their numeric stats like the chance to crit, attack damage, PvE and damage from PvP. Weapons have a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. In addition, many weapons have an added bonus that is activated when three or more of the same weapon is present on a unit. This bonus can sometimes be more than the damage a weapon upgrade alone can do.
The cost of upgrading a weapon depends on its rarity and level. For instance, a +2 weapon will require two regular Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a weapon will increase until it needs a higher level of Smithing Stones. At that point it will reset to one.
Upgrading weapons will also reroll their base stats. This is usually a positive factor, but it could also have negative effects. In the case of items that are only used in a specific build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs for instance), upgrading them may render them useless unless you get a fortunate roll.
Items of armor can also be upgraded to boost their performance. This will increase the defense base of a helm or chest while belts and gloves can boost their strength and agility. Armor offers a rerolling option for its Enhanced Defense percent. This means that it can sometimes reroll down to a lower value.
The
upgrade item template of a weapon will show the new stats that it will gain when upgrading, along with the values of these stats. This means that a weapon will gain 3% attack damage if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. However the 3% does not mean that it will be hit for 3 times less often because it's an absolute number.
A weapon can be rerolled by pressing the green button that has circular arrows within the
item upgrader kit menu. This will roll the item upgrader mod (
read review) and alter its stats but it won't reset the weapon's level nor bind to account status.
Armor
Making a few improvements to your armor could make a huge differences in your ability to survive. Certain sets can provide MASSIVE improvements in the resistance to poison, curses, fire, and magic. This can make it easier to navigate difficult areas. In general, the more defense you have on your character, the greater health you can receive from each point. So, it's best to upgrade your armor.
You can upgrade your armor by visiting one of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four of them and each one requires you to complete a unique side-quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. Once you've done the main side quest and completed the corresponding fountain you'll be able to talk to any Great Fairy to open up the menu for upgrading your armor.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded to three levels, and the amount of materials and Rupees required for each will vary. In general, you're looking at anywhere between three Red Chuchu Jellies and ten Rupees for the initial upgrade, then anywhere between five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns for each subsequent one. The Champion Leathers, as an example, can be upgraded to a 5 defense rating, which will allow you to stay ahead in frigid environments with a lot of foes. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other side, can be upgraded to +20 defense so that you can survive a raid with your comrades.
You can't upgrade your armor like weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior it is best to focus on upgrading your armor to increase physical strength or the power of spells. It's also worthwhile to save your armor upgrades for armor you'll still be wearing at the end of the game, such as the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield, or the helmet you'll wear for the final boss fight as well as the Monter Parts merchant's mask.
By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town, you can gain some benefits to your armor. In general, you should save these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to win the game, like the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer, but it can be useful to have some upgrades of the chest armor and helmets that allow you to stealth around some monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquid substances that, when consumed, provide the user with an effect on their status for a short period of time. There are five kinds of potions, each having particular effects and durations. Some potions may be upgraded, increasing the effectiveness of their effects. You can also increase the effects of certain potions by including glowstone dust and redstone.
Potion upgrades cost a certain amount of XP, which can be earned by crafting them on a table or in an chest of the Alchemist. However, the upgrade price will vary based on the type of potion you want to upgrade, as well as on the
item upgrader kit's Mark Level and Rarity.
To upgrade a potion, click right on it in your inventory and select the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This will open a GUI in which you can select the potion you want to upgrade and the amount of XP they'll give you when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches of up to five at once, and their XP will be added to the total XP you currently have.
Once a poton is upgraded, it will not degrade unless you use it again or break the bottle within which it is stored. You can also change the name of the potion by clicking on it in your inventory.
There were some changes to the mechanics of potions in version 1.7.2. For example, splash potions now have the duration of zero,08 seconds (this is not the equivalent of 22.5 seconds shown on the hover display for the item). The table for potion can now be made using four Wood Planks and two Glass. It is now able to be used in both Survival and Bedrock. Unlike the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions cannot be combined in cauldrons. The same is true for using a potion in the cauldron that is filled. This will drain the potion, and refill the bottle.
Lastly, there are now lingering potions that are made using dragon breath and splash potions. Redstone can also be added to lingering potions to enhance their effect. The table of potion ingredients is now arranged more like the Java Edition, and new potions were introduced, including the potion of leaping and the potion of decomposition, and turtle master potions.
Trinkets
A trinket is a small and affordable ornament or piece of jewelry. It could also be a small ornament or object that serves a function but isn't essential such as a thimble. In some cultures, a trinket is a way to show affection or friendship between family members.
In addition to armor, weapons and potions, players can upgrade their trinkets. These can be upgraded by visiting an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate amount in currency. Trinkets like other items that can be upgraded can be traded at will without losing stats.
The upgrade vendors are found in major cities and the capital of each zone, as well as in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased using tokens, gold, or fragments from trinkets that are rare.
Upgrades are a cheaper alternative to buying a new trinket. It can be done by the player for as little as 12 tokens. The new trinket will feature the same base ilvl as the old one, and will come with an additional upgrade bonus of 1.
Trinkets can be upgraded when they're no longer useful and allows players to increase their power and value over time. They can be traded among players, making them an alternative to gold.
Players must upgrade their most valuable items first. This usually refers to the most valuable-in-slot items for their class, followed by their secondary items and finally, other items of gear will not be replaced in the near future (for example an earring or cloak). When deciding which items to upgrade players must also be aware of their class's preferred statistics. For example, if Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tankers it is recommended that they upgrade their chest, helm, shoulders, and belt.
After they've become unusable trinkets can be upgraded to a greater level. The new trinket has an additional 1percent bonus. A re-upgrade, however, will destroy the trinket unless it is salvaged using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets can be more expensive than other upgrades but still cheaper than buying a new one.
