Inside the fridge, there are 17 shelves and compartments. The fridge compartment is 18.5 cubic feet, which is typical for a French-door refrigerator at this price. It has a decent-sized icemaker in the left door. But, it's not the largest one I've seen.

You can adjust the shelving in both compartments to create custom storage setup for whatever you have to keep. The interior design of the GE PYE22PYNFS is attractive. The LED lighting is a nice feature and the storage bins have an additional shelf that folds up beneath itself to allow you to store large items. The drawers have temperature controls, so you can set them for Meat, Beverage or Deli settings. They're easy to open and close, but I found their textured plastic coatings to be a bit hard on the fingers.

The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator is equipped with a full suite of features you'd expect from a refrigerator in this price range, including Wi-Fi and app support through GE's SmartHQ software. The app, which is available for iOS and Android devices can let you control your fridge from anywhere in the world, and it has numerous options for customization. It also sends you notifications when a door is left open, when the refrigerator or freezer needs to be defrosted and when it's time to change the filter.

It is nice to have GE PYE22PYNFS offered Precise fill, an option that is available in a few GE refrigerators that allow users to set how many cups they want to dispense. It does have a countdown feature on the fridge display to show how much water you have left, but it's not as helpful as Precise Fill.

Bosch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

The Bosch French-door Refrigerator is an impressive product. It's designed to look like it's a seamless part of your kitchen. The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. It also has a veggie compartment that keeps fruits and vegetables fresher for longer periods, and two compressors to preserve food. Its capacity is higher than average for a counter-depth model, and it cools well and has a nice layout. This feature can be adjusted by using a slider located outside the drawer. You can also set the general cooling settings for the entire fridge. I've noticed that the generic settings work better than the specific ones.

In my tests, the temperatures of the refrigerator were fairly constant across the different areas of the refrigerator. The temperatures in the top, bottom and middle of the refrigerator did not differ much from 38 degrees. This is a great performance however it doesn't make it into the top ten in our rankings.

This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. You can also connect this fridge to an intelligent thermometer to get more precise readings of your fridge's temperature.
