1. Smeg BCC02
This sleek compact and striking machine, designed by the Milan-based firm Deep Design combines the brand's retro aesthetic with the latest technology. The machine is able to handle all the stages of the coffee-making process, from grinding beans to making a puck, then making milk into a texturing, before dispensing the right amount.
The machine is also available in red, black, or taupe. It will easily integrate into any kitchen design. The machine does not come without faults, however. Many reviewers felt that it was quite expensive for a cup to bean maker (and does not come with the milk pitcher).
However, there were numerous positive reviews about the quality of the coffee as well as the ease of using this machine. The user-friendly digital display offers the step-by-step instructions and feedback throughout the entire making process, allowing you to improve your coffee every time. It even allows you to tweak the size of the grind if it's not exactly right. It's like having your own personal barista at home (minus Elon Musk's rocket building abilities and Harry Potter's invisibility cape).
This model is ideal for those who enjoy milky drinks. The steam wand is adjustable upwards and downwards to fit a variety of drinking vessels, except Viking drinking horns. We were impressed with the speed and effectiveness of the frothing process, as well. It creates an excellent, full-flavoured, delicious espresso with a great crema.
The BCC02 is a great all-rounder. It's quiet and efficient, and it is a great value at the current price of PS499. The only drawback is that it does not offer the same degree of customization like some of the other bean to cups we've evaluated. It comes with a 15 bar pump rather than the more usual 19 bars, which isn't as
