Over time, the handles on your doors will get worn out and require
replacement upvc door handle. It is important to keep the same dimensions as the handles you have previously replaced when replacing them.
The top screw's position as well as the lever and keyhole size are the three measurements you have to verify. Use the size guide to assist you.
Inline Lever/Lever
A lever handle or lever is a contemporary door handle that is designed to fit new or replacement doors. This style door handle is available in a variety of styles & finishes. This handle is available from a number of manufacturers including Avocet ERA Fullex Hoppe Mila Millenco Yale.
Fab and Fix Windsor Inline Sprung Lever Door Handle
The handles of uPVC/Composite are constructed of tough materials and are ideal for multi-point lock doors that require a strong design. The handles are inline, and they utilize the same screws and spindle to fix them. They are easily fitted on new or existing uPVC/Composite doors.
The handle can be placed and angled to fit any user. The handle has been tested for endurance up to 200,000 cycles, which helps to ensure the quality of the finish as well as the performance of the handle over time. The lever that is sprung can be cut to fit the widest range of locks. This is particularly useful for doors with narrower openings where the cylinder is further back in the door. A shortened lever can also be used for doors that have a latch that can be activated with the thumb on the inside.
Lever Pad
A Lever Pad upvc door handle operates differently to the lever type handles on doors. The handle can operate from a single spindle (inline) or independently from both sides using two offset spindles or inline (pad). They are typically employed on UPVC doors with double glazing and come in a variety of finishes & variations.
The
handles for internal bifold doors are available in a variety of finishes, including
white window handles, Chrome, and Gold. The finish is BS EN 1670 Grade 5 and is resistant to corrosion. This provides the handle with the best performance and durability for its intended use.
All of the UPVC lever pad designs come with the spindle and screws, allowing them to be put on an existing or new uPVC door. The 211mm backplate fixation centres allow for a bigger handle, which is typically beneficial when replacing an old or faulty multi-point door lock mechanism. The levers for these handles have springs, which eliminate the problem of door handles that sag out of horizontal position when not in use.
It is essential to match the PZ dimensions of both the multipoint lock and the uPVC doors when choosing a replacement UPVC spindle and handle. This measurement may also be called 'handle centre or cylinder centres'. It is important to match the correct handles.
Once you have decided on the proper PZ size it is important to make sure that the lever and push pads are designed to fit the American with Disabilities Act compliant handles that you need for your door. They are typically square or round with an internal lever, and an external push pad.
The majority of UPVC lever pads we offer are sprung, which means that they will return to their horizontal position after not being used, instead of hanging out and possibly securing in the frame. This stops draughts from entering the property. You will also find that the majority of UPVC lever pad handles are swivel, allowing you to install them on either side of the door.
Euro Cylinder
Cylinder locks are usually found on uPVC doors, but can be utilized on other types of doors. The cylinder lock is operated with a key that unlocks the cylinder's casing. The case is then able to reveal pins that can be aligned to the pins in the lock and allow them to turn the revolving camera, thereby opening the door. Euro cylinders can be equipped with up to six pins with internal and external doors generally requiring different levels of security.
Choosing the right cylinder is crucial; it is contingent on how your doors and handle are utilized. External doors, for instance should be equipped with higher security cylinders, whereas internal doors can be secured using the standard cylinder. Certain cylinders come with extra features that can increase security, such as anti-drill or anti bump properties.
To ensure that the euro cylinder is the right size for your door, it should be measured accurately. The cylinder needs to be measured from the central screw hole to the ends of the cylinder. This includes the thumb turn, if there is one. It is recommended to do this while the lock is in place however if this is not feasible, you can take it off and remove it to take measurements. A cylinder that extends beyond the handle and escutcheon might be vulnerable to attacks, such as snapping locks, so it is important to make sure it's not too long.
Most modern cylinders are constructed with bump and anti-drill features built into their design. They are designed to decrease the chance of attack by forcing cylinders to turn in a new direction. This will help to deflect attacks and ensure your door is secure.
There are cylinders that are made to withstand snapping. This is a growing type of attack on cylinders where the break line inside the lock is attacked with a special tool to break the front of the cylinder and allow the door to be opened. This is a faster and simpler method to gain access than the use of a multipoint locking system. It also leaves no evidence of the break-in which could make it difficult to prove insurance claims.
Spring Cassette
This spring cassette sits inside the base of your door handle's backplate providing a sprung solution to return your multipoint lock handles to their rest position after use. Previously a lot of handles didn't have a spring built into them and without this they can droop or 'drop' once the locking mechanism is disengaged. Adding this simple component is one of the best methods to correct this and it is also an excellent way to stop your upvc doors from getting stuck in the open or closed position, as they aren't always simple to manually close by hand.
These spring cassettes were designed to be used with a sprung multipoint locks. They won't work with handles that are not sprung and you'll need to cut a hole in your backplate in order for them to fit. (Please look at the image for a more detailed diagram). These cassettes are a replacement to damaged or missing cassettes in the backplate of
uPVC door handles. They are sold as one unit. They have a square-cut out that accommodates an 8mm shaft.
These spring cassettes provide an excellent value solution to the issue of door handles that have become sagging. These spring cassettes are easy to install and can extend the life of your uPVC door.
