Inline Lever/Lever
A lever/lever handle is a contemporary door handle designed to suit new or replacement doors. This kind of handle is available in various styles and finishes. This handle is available from several manufacturers, including Avocet ERA Fullex Hoppe Mila Millenco Yale.
Fab and Fix Windsor Inline Sprung Lever Door Handle
The door handles made of uPVC/Composite are made of sturdy materials and are perfect for doors with multi-point locks which require a robust design. The handles are inline, and use the same spindle and screws to fix them. They are easily fitted on any uPVC/Composite door.
The spring lever design allows the handle to be positioned and angled to ensure a comfortable experience and is suitable for all users. The handle has been tested to 200,000 cycles, this will ensure the quality of the finish and performance of the handle over time. The sprung lever is also adjustable to fit a broad range of locks. This is useful for narrower doors where the cylinder is further away from the door. A lever that is shorter is an excellent option for doors where the latch could be opened by a thumb turn on the inside.
Lever Pad
The lever pad upvc handle is distinct from the lever handles found on most doors. These handle types are either operated by one spindle or two spindles, inline or offset. They are typically utilized on
replace upvc door handle doors with double glazing. They come in a range of finishes and variations.
The handles have been tested to the minimum of 200,000 cycles and are available in a variety of finishes like White, Silver, Chrome & Gold. The finish is BS EN 1670 Grade 5 and is resistant to corrosion. This gives the handle a high performance and long-lasting durability for its intended use.
All of the UPVC handle lever pad styles are supplied with screws and a spindle which allow them to be installed on any new or existing uPVC door. The backplate fixing centres of 211mm allow for a wider size of handle which can be beneficial when replacing a faulty or worn multi point door lock mechanism. These handle levers have springs, which can solve the issue of door handles that sag out of horizontal position when not being used.
It is crucial to match the PZ dimensions of both the multipoint lock and the uPVC doors when choosing the replacement UPVC spindle and handle. This measurement is often referred to as the 'handle centre' or 'cylinder centres' and is a critical aspect to match the correct handles.
Once you have decided on the correct size of PZ and the correct PZ size, you must ensure that the lever and push pads are designed to match the American with Disabilities Act compliant handles that you need for your door. They typically have rectangular or round in shape, with an internal lever and external push pad.
The majority of UPVC Lever Pads we offer are sprung. This means they return to a horizontal state when they are not in use instead of hanging and possibly sticking in the frame. This prevents draughts from entering the building. The majority of UPVC lever pad handles come in both left and right handed models, allowing them to be put on either side of doors.
Euro Cylinder
Cylinder locks are found on uPVC and other types of doors. They work with a key to unlock a cylinder that will reveal pins that can be aligned to those inside the lock body, allow them to rotate an revolving cam, opening the door. Euro Cylinders are available with up to six pins. External and internal doors require different levels of security.
The choice of cylinder you choose is crucial. It is based on the type of use your doors and handles receive. External doors, for example should be equipped with cylinders that are more secure and doors inside can be secured with the standard cylinder. Additionally, certain cylinders are available with extra features that can improve security further, such as anti-drill and anti-bump characteristics.
A
euro door handles cylinder should be measured accurately to ensure it is the right size for your door. The cylinder must be measured from the screw hole at the center to the ends of the cylinder. This includes the thumb turn, if there is one. It is best to do this while the lock is in place, but if this is not feasible, you can take it off and take it off to measure. A cylinder that is protruding beyond the handle and escutcheon might be vulnerable to attacks, such as snapping locks, so it is essential to make sure it's not too long.
The design of many modern cylinders comes with anti-drilling as well as bump resistance features. These are designed to reduce the chance of attack by forcing cylinders to turn in a different direction. This helps stop the attack and keep your doors safe.
Certain cylinders are made to withstand snapping. This is a common attack on cylinders. A specially designed tool is used to break the break line of the lock and then the front of cylinder is snapped off. This is a faster and simpler method to gain access than a multipoint locking system. It also leaves less evidence of the break-in which could make it difficult to prove insurance claims.
Spring Cassette
This spring cassette is located inside the base plate of your door handle. It offers a spring-loaded solution to bring your multipoint lock handles back to their resting position after using. The handles had no spring and would droop when the locking mechanism was disconnected. This component is the most effective way to solve this issue. It also prevents your
door handle replacements from getting stuck in the open or closed position as they are difficult to close manually.
These spring cassettes are specially made for use with multipoint locks that are sprung, they will not fit multipoint handles that are not sprung and you will need to have a bespoke hole cut into your backplate in order for them to fit (please see image for technical diagram). These cassettes can be used as a replacement to broken or missing cassettes in the backplate of
uPVC door handles. They have an elongated square that accommodates an 8mm spindle and are sold as a set.
These spring cassettes are a great value-for-money way to fix the problem of your door handles sliding. They are simple to put in and will prolong the lifespan of your uPVC doors.
