WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades can give you an increase in specific stats. Each upgrade increases item level by 3. Each upgrade also boosts an unspecified substat.
Upgraded gear generally sees greater value for trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variation (like Eth titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect model.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any type of armor or weapons. The item used to upgrade the item is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enhancements.
The upgrader is located in every major city, and is accessible anytime to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.
Upgrades will cost more depending on the level of the item however they'll always be cheaper than buying new gear. For instance, upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points while purchasing the same
item upgrader kit from a different player will cost 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are functional items that are used to upgrade weapons tools, armor, and other accessories. They can be purchased by players from NPCs of
item upgrader mod upgraders in a variety of currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any weapon, tool or armor. The button will display the item's next level of upgrade, if there are enough materials.
The cost of upgrading is based on the slot of the item and current
item upgrading level and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers, for instance. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with certain upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of Flightstones or crests used. Once an item level upgrade (
click the following page) has been upgraded to a certain degree it is able to be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currencies.
Upgraders for items can be found in a variety of locations, including the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount and a chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The discount for upgrades increases with the number of items that are being upgraded, and can be boosted by having players complete specific achievements or complete quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the start unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are available only through a variety of methods. This is both a benefit and a disadvantage.
In Season 3, many new features have been added to the upgrade system. After a player has earned an
upgrade item to a specific item level for a particular armor slot, upgrading other items to that level will be less expensive, even when they are part of another set of gear.
The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is decreased, and the discount is account-wide. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is reduced also, but is only available after certain milestones are achieved.
Crests
Players have a number of choices when it comes to upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more specialized and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1, and come in four ranks.
The first thing to be aware of is that crests are only able to be used to purchase equipment that is of a particular rank, and each rank has its own requirements for its upgrade path. The simplest and simplest upgrade route costs 15 crests while the most complex requires as many as 20 crests, based on the type of equipment being upgraded.
Players can earn crests through finishing content at the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and performing outdoor activities for lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons of all difficulties for higher-tier items or Mythic+ dungeons or heroic raid bosses to obtain endgame gear. These crests can then be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade routes and steps.
The new currency system isn't difficult to use, however it brings some changes to the upgrade process. For example, once an item reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is designed to allow players to get their equipment up to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters, instead of relying only on seasonal loot.
It's also crucial to choose crests in a wise manner, as they only have one use. For instance, it's a good idea to use all of your Whelpling-rank crests on the
Best item upgrade equipment available, and then save Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you're planning on making. This is especially relevant for rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character, which can only be eligible to take advantage of the account-wide discount if all slots are filled with top-quality gear.
