WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades will give you a boost to certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the item level by +3. Each
upgrade item also increases an unspecified substat.
Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless the item has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like the eth Titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the requirement to roll for a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any kind of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can be used to create the enchantments.
The upgrader can be found in every major city, and can be visited at any time to upgrade your gear. To keep your gear current it is recommended you visit the upgrader every couple of weeks.
The cost of upgrading will vary based on the current item level of the equipment being upgraded, but will always be cheaper than buying new gear from other sources. For instance, upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points while buying a similar item from another player will costs 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapon, armor, tool and accessory upgrades. They are purchased by players from NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for various currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any weapon, tool, or armor. button, which will display a preview of the item at the next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.
The cost of upgrades varies based on the item slot and the current level of the item as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than bracers or gloves, for example. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with certain upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of the Flightstones or crests that are used. Once an item level upgrade (
https://lovewiki.faith/) is upgraded to a certain amount it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.
Item upgraders can be found in a variety of locations on the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs provide both an
upgrade items discount and the chance to acquire a new upgrade recipe. The discount on upgrades increases depending on the amount of items that are being upgraded, and can be boosted by requiring players to complete specific achievements or quests.
Contrary to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II, there is no upgrader for items available in the beginning of Icewind Dale. Instead the NPCs that can be used to upgrade are acquired via various methods that are both an improvement and a drawback.
In Season 3 the upgrade system has been tweaked a bit, with several new features added. Once the player has upgraded to a certain
item upgrades level for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same item level, will cost less. This is true even if those items are from a different set of gear.
The discount applies to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players achieve certain milestones in their achievements.
Crests
When upgrading gear in WoW, players have a few choices. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specialized and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1 and are available in 4 ranks.
First, you should know that the crests can only be purchased for equipment that is with a certain rank. Each rank has an upgrade path that is different. The simplest and simplest upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complex upgrade can require up to 20 crests, based on the type or equipment that is being upgraded.
Players can earn crests through working through content at the appropriate level. This could be by doing outdoor activities, or by doing dungeons or raids in any difficulty to earn equipment of lower tier or Mythicbosses of raids or dungeons with a heroic difficulty for gear in the endgame. The crests can then be exchanged with an upgrader for the item, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and paths.
The new currency system isn't complicated to use, but it does bring some changes to the process of upgrading. For instance, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This allows players to upgrade their gear to the highest possible level on all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.
Another significant change is that crests only have one purpose therefore it's essential to use them properly. For instance it's best to make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests on the top gear you have available and save Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you plan to make. This is especially true for items such as trinkets and rings that fill multiple slots. The discount for the entire account will only apply when all slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
