Most Lamborghini cars are furnished with the option of having an electronic key that can be used for unlocking and locking the doors, igniting the car and disarming the immobilizer without needing a traditional key with a blade made of metal. The way that a smart key functions is via an electronic transponder device at the middle of the key, which communicates with the computer in the car on a ciphered signal when you are within five feet of the vehicle. It can be done by placing it attached to your key ring or inside your pocket.
The
lambo keys contain the controller chip,
replacement which generates a 40-bit code every time the transmitter button on the key is hit. This code is then sent to the receiver. The hopping/rolling codes stop the transmitter and receiver from detecting each other's signals this means that the key is only able to be used on a single
lamborghini key fob.
To duplicate a digital key, you'll require a specific coder that can only be purchased from a licensed
lamborghini svj key dealer or locksmith. This specialized equipment costs about a few thousand dollars, which is the primary reason why a digital key is a lot more costly than merely cutting a traditional metal bladed key.
Key Fob
The key fob has an insignificant remote transmitter that communicates with the car's systems via Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology. It uses radio frequency signals to transmit the coded signal to an RFID chip inside the vehicle. The chip then transmits the information back to the key fob. When the key fob is activated the car is able to detect the information sent by the chip and act in the same manner.
The fob can also have buttons that can trigger other functions like locking doors, unlocking them, activating the power sunroof, or folding the sidemirrors with power. It also can start the car and flash a light to signal that it has done so.
Fobs are easy to replace, so you can pick up replacements from an auto shop or from a retailer that sells them. You can also check the owner's manual to learn more on how to replace the battery. In most instances, this is a simple task that takes only a few minutes.
If your keys don't function, it's likely the ignition switch. This part is prone to wear and tear, or damage that can cause it to break. If the ignition switch is malfunctioning it will stop the vehicle from starting, and prevent you from driving it. It is essential to fix this issue as soon as you can.
Remote Keyless System Receiver module
The receiver is an RF unit that has programming logic for RKE. It is located beneath the lower instrument panel of the passenger, near the glovebox opening. The RF receiver is the radio transmitter at 315 MHz and receives and decodes a stream from the RKE key fob. The data stream is usually 64 to 128 bits in length and comprises a preamble, command code and rolling codes. The RF signal uses amplitude-shift keying to decrease battery's consumption and extend the transmission range.
When the user presses one of the function buttons on the RKE keyfob, it activates the mechanical actuators inside the keyfob that press the appropriate button on the RF receiver. This triggers a sequence signaling to send a message from the BCM indicating that the pressed button was activated.

The BCM transmits a command for the RKE transmitter, which transmits an RF radio coded signal to the vehicle in line to the code transmitted. The receiver also retains the transmitter's codes in memory, allowing up to four different remote keyless entry transmitters to operate the vehicle at one time. If the RF receiver receives a message from a transmitter that isn't matched it will chime signal that the command has been sent.
Troubleshooting
Fault diagnosis is the process of identifying a fault within a system through the analysis of its components. The process of fault diagnosis is an essential element of the design process and can cut down on the time needed to develop a product because it eliminates the need for extensive testing. It helps in the rapid identification of defects, and increases the security of systems. Fault diagnosis is especially important for high-speed systems, as the consequences of failures can be extremely costly.
Lamborghini cars today are typically equipped with a push-to-start ignition system that is also referred to as smart keys. This lets you start your vehicle by pressing a button located on the dashboard, instead of turning a traditional ignition key. Our expert locksmiths for automotive are skilled in cutting and programming supplementary keys for Lamborghini smart key systems that come with unique diagnostic devices and software.
