Path of Exile Item Upgrading
Item upgrading allows players to upgrade their weapons and gear by adding new affixes, boosting the base stats of the item or providing additional benefits. To upgrade items, the player must have the item in their inventory and access the kiln.
Items with weak bases, such as rings, can be upgraded into stronger bases. Items with strong bases, such as the Titans of eth have little changes in their stats.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons, trinkets, and gathering tools. They provide an attribute bonus, or extra effect, while the equipment is being used. They can be bought from vendors, or found in loot, dropped by enemies or as rewards from missions or chests. Some upgrades additionally have special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require the equipment to be above a certain point before they can be upgraded.
To upgrade a weapon, armor or other item in the game, the player will need to select it and then click the Upgrade button in the toolbar. This will show a preview on the right side of the screen showing what the expected upgrade stats will be and also the required material or component needed for the upgrade to take place.
There are three kinds of upgrade components: universal upgrades, prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, like gems, are able to be placed on any type of equipment. They offer a lower bonus than upgrade components that have a type limitation. Infusions are only placed in ascended gear and legendary equipment, are the same as jewels but provide larger bonuses and cannot be placed in any other kind of equipment. Suffix upgrades are able to be placed in gathering tools, will add their names to the end of the name of the item they are attached to, for instance adding an Glyph to a Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor would change it to a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.
If the player upgrades their gathering tool, and then replaces glyphs with another glyph, the old one will be returned to their inventory. If you replace any other upgrade component the
item upgrade will be destroyed, with the exception for the inscriptions, which can be swapped freely.
Leveling
The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some significant changes from the previous versions. Gear is now broken down into tracks and items can only be upgraded a set number of times before being "leveled out." The upgrade cost increases with each level up, but the required materials do not increase as much. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a few key items and maximize their impact instead of spreading the cost of upgrades across several items.
This allows the item to receive new upgrade components and a higher chance of success. This bonus is known as Artisan’s Energy and it resets to 0 if an upgrade fails, or increases if the upgrade succeeds.
After a piece has been upgraded to the maximum level, it will be able to receive an affix to increase its capabilities. The amount of affixes available is determined by the
item upgrades's kind. For example the rare or exclusive weapon that has a standard base will only have two affixes available for it, while legendary armors will have up to eight affixes available for it.
Each upgrade process requires a specific number of Flightstones or Crests, depending on the type of item at its current level, and in which slot it is in. Typically, weapons will require more Flightstones to upgrade than other kinds of equipment.
If an item is not able to get to its maximum level the NPC will offer the player the option of transfer it to another character and then re-infuse it with an upgrade set that is different. This procedure can take as long as two hours, and costs the same amount of materials. However, it has a lower rate of success.
Engineers may use a level in order to compare the height of the building with a known point, such as an existing benchmark. This method is known as a "level loop." It involves taking readings with the backsight rod and the level, then turning the level and taking the foresight rod reading. This method guarantees that the buildings are constructed with an extremely high degree of precision and safety.
Rerolling
Rerolling refers to the process of altering the upgrade components of an item. It is an important aspect of the game and can dramatically enhance an item's strength or damage, as well as other characteristics. It is possible to do this through the item menu, or by pressing the Reroll button whenever you upgrade an item. Rerolling items can be costly and should be done sparingly.
The game allows players to recycle upgraded items, which are used to acquire Reroll tokens. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item or another similar item. Recyclable items have an indicator of level that indicates how much of the upgrade gauge has been filled. The amount of level that has been filled is contingent on the rarity and the
upgrade item cost of the item.
Prior to this, certain upgrade items were given priority affixes that made them more accessible for players to roll. It meant that you'd get the most crucial stats to your build more often than others. This included stats such as the armor's total armour, thorns and diminished duration due to control or the weapons' bonus attack speed and crit strike chance.
This was changed with the recent patch. Priority affixes were removed, and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling each statistic. This can be either good or bad, based on what you're looking for and want from your equipment.
Each upgraded item may also be equipped with a special fixed-value, fixed-value benefit that increases its power by a specific percentage. These bonuses are added to the regular affixes. The more you upgrade a product, the higher your chances of receiving the bonus of a different kind.
The game also comes with number sets that give the player a bonus if three or four upgraded items from the set are equipped on an item. This is a good method of giving a character a lot more power without spending a ton of money.
Many players prefer to reroll their gear and weapons, especially in the beginning stages of the game. Rerolling is a method to get a more powerful character faster, which allows you to progress in the game and achieve higher tiers.
Sets
Sets are groups of elements that can be put together in a variety of ways. They can be of various sizes, have none at all, or contain a single element. They can be utilized to organize data or organize information. They can also be used for analyzing patterns. Sets can be categorized in several ways, including by size and shape.
There are many set items to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Certain items are worth upgrading, while others aren't. Upgrades are worthwhile for armor sets that provide high defense values and set bonuses. Weapon upgrades are not as effective in boosting stats as their counterparts in purple. This makes them less attractive to upgrade if you own lots of weapons or armor pieces already.
Certain set items are upgraded to meet their own unique functions which can be beneficial in certain builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded to Exceptional Winged Helms and Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements also increased).
Upgrades are also possible to bring certain items up to the level of the tiers. For instance, the Immortal King set has a large level range, between 29 and 76. Upgrades to lower level items can improve their defense, and increase their competitiveness when it comes to damage.
To determine if a product is worth upgrading, players should click the Upgrade button on the screen of their character. This will display the item's features, as well as the items needed to upgrade it. To upgrade the No-mouth Face, for example, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, along with 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Players can also look up the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.
Generally speaking the jewelry and weapons have greater value for trading when fully upgraded than armor. Particularly for weapons with damage glyphs for spells or weapons and are upgraded to gold is recommended since it will result in a significant increase in their performance. The armor that has a new appearance will benefit from this upgrade as its defense value will increase when it goes from purple to gold.
