Path of Exile Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a common and important way to improve the performance of a variety of items in Path of Exile. They can cause additional damage, AD or even affixes.

Sometimes, however upgraded Common and Magic gear is outclassed by Rare-grade gear due to their higher requirements.

Armor

Armor upgrades can be applied to both weapon and armor items. They improve the stats of whatever item upgrade [stryhn-lowery.hubstack.net] they are connected to. Armor upgrades are found in the game's world and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at any bonfire. Additionally, they can be salvaged from items that have upgrade components inside them, using an expert or greater salvage kit.

The amount of damage that an armored item or weapon will absorb is contingent on the degree of upgrades. The ability to absorb damage of an item of armor will increase when it's upgraded to its maximum upgrade level. It is important to keep in mind that this will increase the weight of the armor, therefore it must be heavier.

There are several kinds of armor upgrades that are available in the game and they all have distinct effects. Certain upgrades grant armor an additional number of health points while others make it stronger and lighter. The name of the armor upgrade will indicate the type of upgrade the item can be given, as illustrated below.

Some upgrades are magic or a hybrid of magic and technology, which is identified by the "Magic" or "Hybrid" entry in the table below. Some upgrades also require charges for use. These are indicated as "Charges" entries in the table. The charges associated with these upgrades change daily or never expire, according to the upgrade.

The cheapest way to upgrade armor is by using Iron Ore, which can be obtained through exploring the surroundings and looting minor loot chests. Titanium is more expensive however it is obtainable through smelters in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Certain upgrades, like the Reforge and the Hot Potato Books, can only be applied to high-level armor pieces. These upgrades can provide a significant boost to stats and are a worthwhile cost, especially for single-handed weapons.

The player should be aware that upgrading a piece up to the max upgrade level will increase its defense values. However, it will also affect its agility and speed. It is not recommended to upgrade armor past +9. The boost in defense typically isn't worth the weight and power costs of the upgrades.

Weapons

Weapon upgrades allow players to improve the effectiveness of certain aspects of an weapon. For instance, an upgrade may enhance the damage caused by a shotgun's shells or the accuracy of the rifle that snipes. Certain firearms have upgrades to improve their inherent qualities. These include Frictionless Materials (improves stability and decreases the chance of the risk of overheating) and Kinetic Coils (increases projectile acceleration for more damage).

Most weapon upgrades require three Power Dices, a different amount of Minerals and Erons, and a whetblade to apply. They can be obtained by finishing side quests, taking out a certain number of monsters or bosses, or through the Weapon Upgrade NPC in Central Flarine.

To upgrade the weapon, equipment set piece or Whetblade you need to visit the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine, and pay her an upgrade fee of a certain number of Bars. The more bars you need to complete an upgrade, the more expensive the upgrade. If you have multiple upgrade materials the cost of upgrading will be lower.

In Chapter 2: Season 5 the way you upgrade weapon and equipment sets has changed. Before you could search for an Upgrade Bench and pay a certain number of Bars to upgrade your equipment or weapon to an increased quality. You could continue doing this until you reached a max upgrade level of the weapon or equipment, after which the upgrades would be reset.

It's possible, but it depends heavily on RNG. Instead, you're much better off going to stores and buying equipment that has low upgrade levels but good base scores and stat distributions. These items will have a greater chance of giving you the highest tier benefits and blessings.

The majority of players will prioritize weapon upgrades for the weapons they use most frequently to make sure they are able to level up quicker. Additionally players, they should think about upgrading the weapons that are most popular with their squadmates to increase their power as well. For instance, Shepard should consider upgrading the M92F to unlock the Beretta M93R, which will make it more useful when paired with biotech specialists such as Grunt and Tali.

Jewels

Jewels are utilized in the armor's sockets and weapons, enhancing the power of a character and bringing about secondary effects. They can be made through a process called jewelry crafting, in which you combine a gem and various reagents at a jewelry table. The higher the level of the jewel has, the more powerful its secondary effect. These reagents are available from Treasure Goblins and World Bosses in the world, or through collecting Legendary Gear. You can also purchase them from The Jeweler for gold and a Scattered Prism.

The Jeweler can improve the quality of gemstones in stages ranging from Crude up to Royal. The stat boosts will vary depending on the level the jewel is at when it's slotted into jewelry, weapons, or other gear.

All kinds of jewels can be made at the Jeweler however, there are some exceptions to this, such as the rare and legendary jewels that require you to be at a high enough level to be able to get these. Unlike other upgrade components, jewels can be swapped out with a identical jewel without destroying the original one. However it is only possible to replace a jewel in an item of equipment once.

Using more jewels in the movement can make it feel more comfortable, and is often used for aesthetic reasons. The jewels also improve performance and make an outer layer that is more durable than steel, so that the repeated friction caused by pivots does not damage them.

A Glyphmaster can offer glyphs to improve the appearance of your shields and weapons. These glyphs provide a small boost and can be freely exchanged, however they are not guaranteed to show up as loot. Glyphs can be upgraded, like jewelry, at the Jeweler for gold and a Scattered Crystal. Glyphs can also be removed and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components, like aegis and traits, are not swappable, and can only be retrieved using an Upgrade Extractor or salvaging them using Black Lion Salvage Kit or an Ascended Salvage Tool.

Trinkets

Trinkets are items of equipment that provide a wide range of small but useful advantages to your hero. You can find them in the start-up area as rewards for personal stories or loot. They can also be obtained from vendors and by completing road interaction. They can be purchased from the Trading Post, or crafted by jewelers.

The first trinket players will be able to unlock is the cloak. It grants a small but beneficial boost in speed of movement and the ability to escape. Then, they can purchase amulets, rings and necklaces in a similar fashion to how the player can acquire armor and weapons. Each piece of equipment has an upgrade slot that is either universal or jewel. Universal upgrades are smaller and can be used on any device. Jewels are not upgradeable or replaced, and can only be used with certain trinkets.

These trinkets provide additional buffs and abilities that are active when the hero isn't in combat. This allows a hero to be more efficient when they are not active. It can also compensate for the absence of excellent slot in the talent tree or team that are normally filled by the hero's Best item upgrader stats.

As a general rule trinket upgrades should be prioritized over BiS (Best item upgrade in Slot) items that you will not replace in the near future. Also, consider items with desirable stats that aren't as important as the iLevel for the item upgrader that is to be upgraded. This is especially true if an item has multiple stats you'd like to upgrade since it's generally more beneficial to upgrade one important stat rather than two sub-optimal ones.

Jungle players usually upgrade their yellow trinket to a red one at the start of the game. Top and mid players on the other hand, will choose either a pink or green ward, depending on the game's matchup. These choices can affect the hero's ability to manage the map.

Apart from the items mentioned above, players can also find a number of other trinkets in the game in the form of awards and trophies. These can be obtained by completing certain milestones in the story. For instance, completing the main quest of a chapter or beating the boss. You can view them by clicking on the achievement in the reward section of the hero's menu.
