World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

The item level upgrade upgrade (click for more) lets players boost an item's gear rating up 700 points and also add a final bonus. Items can be upgraded if they are in your inventory and you decide to take them to the kiln.

Certain items are worth upgrading due to their distinctive stats. (For example, a perfectly roll breakpoint armor is used in melee PvP). Other items like weapons don't really change after an upgrade, and aren't worth the effort.

Weapons

Weapons can be upgraded to increase their numeric stats, such as the chance to crit, attack damage, PvE and damage to PvP. Weapons come with a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. Additionally some weapons come with a set bonus that activates when three or more of the same weapon are present on a unit. This bonus may be greater than the damage that a weapon upgrade alone can cause.

The cost of upgrading a weapon is contingent on its rarity and current level. For instance an item with a rating of +2 will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while an upgrade of +3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a weapon will continue increase until it requires the higher level of Smithing Stones, at which point it will reset to one.

Upgrades to weapons will also change the stats of their base. While this is generally an excellent thing however, it could have negative consequences as well. For items that are only used in a particular build (Whistant's shield for FB Sorcs, for example) upgrading them could render them useless unless you happen to have an extremely lucky roll.

Armor items can be upgraded to increase their performance. This can boost the defense of a chest or helm, while belts and gloves will increase their required strength and agility. Armor also offers an option to reroll its Enhanced Defense percentage, which means that it could roll back to a lower number.

The upgrade template for a weapon shows the new stats it will get when upgraded and their respective values. This means that an upgrade item from a sword with 8 damage to an 11-attack-damage sword would result in a weapon receiving 33% attack damage. However, the 3% doesn't mean that it will strike 3 times less often, since it is an absolute statistic.

A weapon can also be rerolled using the green button with circular arrows within the menu for items. This will reroll an item and alter its stats, but not reset the weapon's level or connect it to an account's status.

Armor

A few upgrades to your armor can make the world of difference in your ability to survive. Certain sets provide massive increases in poison or curse, fire or magic resistance, which can make it easier to navigate through tough terrain. In general, the greater defense you have on your character, the more health you'll gain from each point. Therefore, it is recommended to upgrade your armor.

You can upgrade your armor by visiting one of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four in total and each one requires you to complete a unique side-quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. Once you've completed the main quest and the associated fountains, you'll have the option of talking to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the menu for upgrading armor.

The amount of materials required to upgrade each piece of armor will differ. In general, you're looking at anything from three to ten Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees for the first upgrade, and anywhere between five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns for each subsequent one. The Champion Leathers, as an example can be upgraded to a 5 defense rating, which allows you to stay ahead in frigid conditions with a large number of enemies. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other side, can be upgraded to +20 defense to ensure you can survive a raid with your comrades.

It's important to note that armor cannot be upgraded in the same way as weapons, so you'll want to concentrate on upgrading it for physical power if you're a Warrior or Spell Power if you're Mage. You should also save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor you'll still be wearing by the end of the story, like the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you use in the final boss fight the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.

You can also gain benefits to your armor by presenting the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. Generally, you'll want to keep these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to beat the game, such as the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer however, it could be useful to have some upgrades to your chest armor and helmets to allow you to stealth around certain monsters.

Potions

Potions are substances in bottles that, if consumed, give the player the illusion of status for a few minutes. There are five kinds of potions with different effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded, increasing their level of effect. You can also enhance the effects of certain potions by including glowstone dust and redstone.

Upgrades to potion cost a certain amount of XP. These can be earned by crafting them on a crafting table or the Alchemist's chest. The price of upgrades will vary based on the type of potion you want to upgrade, as well as on the item's Mark Level as well as its rarity.

To upgrade a potion to the next level, right-click on it in your inventory and select the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This opens an GUI where you can choose the potions you want to upgrade and the amount of XP they will give you when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches of up to five at a time and their XP will be added to the total XP you have.

Once a potion has been upgraded, it will not degrade until you re-use it, or break the bottle it is stored in. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will also allow you to rename it.

Version 1.7.2 brought a few changes to the way potions are used. For instance splash potions now have a duration of 0.08 seconds (this is not the equivalent of 22.5 seconds that are displayed on the hover display of the item). The table for potion is now crafted from four Wood Planks, and two Glass. This allows it to be utilized by players playing Survival and Bedrock. In contrast to the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions are not able to be mixed in cauldrons. The same is true for using a potion within an empty cauldron. This will draw out the potion and refill the bottle.

In addition, there are lingering potions, which are brewed with dragon breath and splash potions. Similar to lingering potions, the effect can be extended by adding redstone to it. The table of potions is laid out more in line with the Java Edition, and new potions were added such as the potion of leaping and the decomposition potion, as well as turtle master potions.

Trinkets

A trinket is a small and cheap ornament or piece of jewelry. It can also refer to an object or ornament that serves a purpose, but is not important such as a Thimble. In certain cultures, trinkets are used to signify affection or friendship, specifically between family members.

Players can upgrade item trinkets in addition to weapons, armor, and potions. Upgrades can be purchased by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Unlike other item upgrades trinkets are able to be swapped out at will without losing their status.

Upgrade vendors are located at the capitals of every zone, and sometimes in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are bought with tokens, gold or fragments of rare trinkets.

Upgrades to trinkets are a cost-effective alternative to purchasing new ones. It can be done by the player for as little as 12 tokens. The new trinket will have the same base ilvl as old one, and will come with an additional upgrade bonus of 1.

When the old Trinkets are no longer usable, they can be upgraded. This allows players to increase both their power and value over time. They can be traded between players which makes them a good alternative to gold.

Players should upgrade their most essential items first. This usually means the best-in-slot items for their class, followed by their secondaries, and finally other gear items that they will not be replacing in the near future (for instance, a ring or cloak). When choosing which items to upgrade players should also be aware of the class's preferred stats. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats for a tank player then they should consider upgrading their helm, chest and shoulders.

Trinkets are able to be upgraded to a higher ilvl after they are no longer useful and the new trinket will receive an additional upgrade bonus of 1. However, a re-upgrade is likely to ruin the previous trinket until it is salvaged using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or an additional salvage tool of higher quality. This means upgrading trinkets is more expensive than other upgrades, however it is still cheaper than purchasing a new one.
