Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items that can be used to improve the quality of weapons, tools, armor, and other accessories. Players can purchase them from NPCs of item upgraders for various currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any tool, weapon or armor. button, which will display an image of the item when it is upgraded if the player has sufficient materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the slot for the item and the current level of the item. For example weapons are more expensive than bracers, or gloves. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Some upgrades offer discounts on Flightstones. After an Item Level Upgrade (Intern.Ee.Aeust.Edu.Tw) has been upgraded to a certain level it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.

Many locations have upgraders for their items which include the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide an upgrade discount as well as a chance to acquire a new upgrade recipe. It's also important to use crests wisely, as they are only used for one purpose. For instance it's a good idea to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests with the best equipment you have, and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you plan to make. This is especially relevant for rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character, which can only be eligible to take advantage of the account-wide discount when all of the slots are full of high-quality gear.
