World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades boost the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades also boost bonuses like Crit chance and PvE Damage.

If the weapon's upgrade template ends in %, it will increase an additional 3% of the previous damage for every time it's upgraded.

The cost for upgrading items increases when they reach the item's current level. The cost increases as the item's level rises.

Components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into weapons, armor and trinkets to give them a stat boost or an extra effect. They can be obtained through crafting, purchasing from vendors or trading with other players, or looting. Some upgrades also have specific cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into any equipment that has a slot for them. The item must be at the very least upgraded to blue level to allow a component to be inserted. In contrast to other mods components can only be used one time; they cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a particular kind of upgrade component used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment and some of the back items that are not ascending. Infusions and enrichments can be retrieved by salvaging gear that is ascended or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade can be prefixed or a suffix changing the name of the equipment to which it is used (for examplethe "Canthan Armor Insignia is changed to Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase an item's Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players create stronger versions of that equipment with the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than is required to reach the same level of upgrade using normal methods.

A boost upgrade can modify the attack or defense characteristics of a weapon or armor. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist the upgrades can be created at the Portative Forging Station. They can be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or buying them from the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals per.

Each upgrade increases the probability that a higher tier version of the item will be revealed at the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to continue upgrading their gear, even if they're unsure of the extent to which it will increase after a future reset.

The process of upgrading an item could be expensive and it's possible that the item will become obsolete, or even break, when the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when an upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to minimize or eliminate the possibility of failure. Some upgrades also offer the player a bonus if they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to enhance the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets with special functions. Glyphs increase the effectiveness of all nodes in a radius around them, including pre-existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways. We recommend upgrading them as fast as you can to level 15.

In the endgame, you will often find that the Best item upgrade way to improve your gear is by placing Glyphs. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded directly to level 15 and provide an enormous boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to get higher nodes much faster.

Glyphs, the only upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and replaced again are the most commonly used. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires an Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and replace.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it in your inventory. You can replace it with another Glyph with the same rank, or a higher rank, which will boost the value of the Glyph.

Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of the Gem Store bundle or purchase the glyphs with certain tools that allow unlimited use as well as during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt has the chance of dropping one of the various Glyphs as well as some rare glyphs that can be found as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs then you have to put them on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a bonus that will boost the stats of a specific set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. It could be +40 for one of your primary stats or +25 for two of your secondary stats, based on the Glyph.

Glyphs boost all nodes connected to them, which is why it is recommended to place Glyphs in the most important locations on the Graph. This will increase the impact. For instance that a Druid should try to position their Glyphs near their primary damage nodes, but you should also think about placing them near crucial damage nodes, too.

Leveling

The item upgrading system allows players to increase the effectiveness of certain items by placing upgraded components in them. This is commonly known as "upping". Each upgradeable item has a level that determines its upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded up to a maximum of 385 ilvl. Each item upgrader mod level requires different components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.

Certain upgrades require a specific ingredient to activate. This ingredient can be obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be bought from NPCs, or on the upgrade tab of crafting tables. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed earns some Technology Points. These points can be used to the upgrading of an item. When enough points have been earned, you will be eligible to claim the upgrade and receive its additional bonuses.

When the player improves an item the original item will be replaced by a new item. This means that the same armor piece will get the form of a shield or weapon when upgraded. The new item will have its own set bonus. This could be a drawback, as it can cause the item to become more expensive if you don't require it.

If the player has enough tokens they can roll item upgrades. The item will be replaced with a brand new one that has a base of level 1 and completely different bonuses. This is useful for certain items, but it shouldn't be repeated often, as it can use up a lot of resources.

Certain upgrades can increase their value and allow players to personalize their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, since it grants buffs when the player repeatedly enters or exits the water. It is possible to upgrade it several times, each time increasing the max roll by a factor of 10. This item is highly useful in PvP. A perfectly rolled version could be worth 50 times the value of the unupgraded counterpart.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to increase the level of their equippable equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets over ilvl 385 by offering the appropriate currency and items to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also boost the defense of the base set and weapon upgrades items boost their base damage as well as their strength and dexterity.

Each item can be upgraded a maximum of five times, except for hero gear, which can be upgraded with eight upgrades. Each when you upgrade an item it has an opportunity to fail. The failure rate increases the farther you exceed the maximum amount of upgrades. Failures will result in the item returning to its original condition, which requires the player to spend additional items than if they stopped upgrading after the maximum number.

If an item isn't upgraded the experience bar on its growth bar will be reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it gained, such as the chance to crit damage to attack, additional effects (such as increased heal over time or reloading speed). However, the player can still continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.

Whenever an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that when a weapon is upgraded, if it receives a crit chance boost that it will be applied before any attack damage increases. A new attribute called Slots is now added to the item definition and the value is computed each time an upgrade is made.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is determined by its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade. For instance, a standard equipment item could have five upgrades with a cost of 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Opportunity. Hero quality items are less expensive per upgrade.

Premium items have different upgrade requirements as compared to standard equipment, for instance, they may require fewer sowels, but more minerals and erons. Regardless, the player must visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade cost mentioned above, each equipment upgrade will require a different amount of the upgrade ingredients.
