WoW Upgrades - The
Item UpgraderUpgrades give a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by +3. A random additional substat is also boosted alongside every upgrade.
Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless the item has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like the eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are not as valuable for those with higher variance because of the requirement to roll the perfect version.
Recycle Points
The
item upgrades upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapons. However, the item used to
upgrade items will be consumed for the duration of time and can't be used again. Upgrades can be used to create enchantments.
You can
upgrade item your equipment at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear current, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each several weeks.
Upgrades will cost more, based on the item level, however they'll always be cheaper than buying new equipment. For instance upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points, while purchasing the same item from another player will cost 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that are used to upgrade weapons and tools, armor and other items. They can be purchased from NPCs of item upgraders for various currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased, it can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor using a button, which will display a preview of the item at its next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.
The upgrade cost depends on the
item Level upgrade slot and current item level and the weapon's price is higher than bracers or gloves, for instance. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Certain upgrades provide discounts on Flightstones. Once an item is upgraded to a certain amount and is degraded, it can be sold and sold back to the upgrader for a lesser amount of both currency types.
Upgraders for items are available in many places including the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs offer an upgrade coupon and a possibility of obtaining a new recipe. The upgrade discount increases according to the number of items being upgraded. It is also possible to be increased by requiring players to complete specific achievements or quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at the beginning, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. Instead the NPCs that can be used to upgrade are acquired via several methods that are both an improvement as well as a disadvantage.
In Season 3, several new features were added to the upgrade system. Once an upgrade has been completed to a certain level of item for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same level will cost less. This is true even if the items come from an entirely different set of equipment.
The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is decreased, and the discount is affixed to all accounts. In the same way, the amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is also reduced and is not available until players have reached certain achievement milestones.
Crests
Players have several choices when it comes to upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are an
item upgrades that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more specialized, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an integral part of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System, which was introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.
The first thing to note is that crests are only able to be spent on equipment that is of a particular rank, and each rank has its own requirements for upgrading. The simplest and simplest upgrade path costs 15 crests, while the more complex one requires as many as 20 crests, based on the type of equipment that is being upgraded.
Players can earn crests through finishing content at the appropriate level, whether that means walking around and doing outdoor activities to get lower-tier gear, dungeons or raids of all difficulty for items of higher tier, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons for gear that is used in the endgame. The crests can later be exchanged at an item upgrader NPC like Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken, for the appropriate upgrade paths and steps.
The use of these currencies isn't too complicated, but the system does introduce some modifications to the upgrade process. For instance, when a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is designed to allow players to upgrade their equipment up to the highest level possible for all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.
Another notable modification is that crests have one use and it's crucial to make use of them in a responsible manner. It is best to put your Whelpling-rank Crests on the best gear that you can find, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is especially true for items such as rings and trinkets that occupy several slots. The discount for the entire account will only apply when all slots on the character are filled with high-quality gear.
