This is another aspect that could be altered by adding the option to upgrade the equipment without rerolling the affixes or choosing which stats to increase. But as with base equipment, this would have to be done on a per-item basis and the interface for item comparison will not show all the stats that could be either lost or gained at the same time.

A player's Luck stat stacks up to increase the odds of item discoveries and the properties that are spawned from loot drops and the intensity of those properties. It does not, however, directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives players a chance to acquire better gear in earlier waves and is therefore more useful in early game runs than in later ones, since most players prefer higher weapon scaling and defenses over damage gains.
In addition to influencing the discovery of items, Luck also increases the chance of success when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This is not to confuse with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading, which increase with each level of the item. These can also be enhanced by using anti-materials, such as the Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.
Armor, shields and weapons can be made or spawn by using the Luck property, which has a default value of 40. These items can be enhanced by golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the material of the item) to grant an additional +40 Luck or to boost the luck of an item up to 140.
Additionally, certain items, like the Hollow infused weapon, can be equipped to increase the damage of any damage-dealing skill by 5%. These items can be purchased in the shop, or they can be crafted using the right ingredients.
