World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a way to boost the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade you choose, it may increase an item's Rarity or Mark Level and boost additional stats.

Each item has a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a certain amount.

Item Level

When an item is upgraded, its basic stats are increased in value. This value is the sum of an item's upgraded perks (attack magic attack and defense). The cost of upgrading items can be high depending on the upgrader you choose and the type of upgrade you choose to do. This is due to how many perks must be replaced in order for the item to be upgraded.

It can also be used as a gating requirement when waiting for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It is also used as a gating requirement while waiting for dungeons, scenarios and raids, and to limit the amount of PvP gear players can wear (since PvP is capped at the lower levels). Players can view their average level of item on their character sheet.

When deciding whether to buy or sell equipment players can evaluate the level of an item. It's an excellent indicator of the quality of an item and the amount of damage it will be capable of dealing with. Comparing items in the inventory of a vendor can be done by using the level of the item.

On PC, you can check the level of the item using ALT, or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will show the full description of the item, as well as its level. It can also be located by hovering over an item level upgrade using the mouse cursor, and then typing /itemlevel in chat.

There are several theories about how the item level is calculated. One theory says that the item level is determined by formulas that determine the value of the stats of an item really are. It considers the fact that various perks have different value and gems in sockets increase the item's overall value. This can result in a calculated value for the item's level, which is usually quite close to the actual Blizzard level of the item.

This is not the only thing that affects the level of an item. The degree of the area in which the item dropped can also alter its stats. For example, it could increase the item's haste, or crit rating. Items that drop in higher-level instances will have a higher ilvl.

Item Stats

Stats on an item are a significant component of what determines the value of an item for players. The game makes use of a lot of them in different ways to encourage players to play with multiple weapons, and to prevent one weapon from being "the most effective." The stat modifications of weapons boost base stats. These stat mods are then boosted by a player's skill.

The upgrades to an item can increase the stats of an item. The upgrade costs are determined by the rarity of the item. An item that is white or grey for instance, will only be upgraded one time, while an item that has rare tiers can be upgraded several times at more expensive costs.

Another method to alter the stats of an item is to use affixes. They are stat boosts which can be added by the player to an item. The affixes could do things like give the item extra damage, add a special capability to the item (such as reviving the dead or cutting down the cooldowns) or make the item unique by giving an exclusive name to the item.

Presently, all affixes are able to be changed by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button using circles arrows. This procedure will cost the player a specific amount of gold and items, which can be used to add to the upgrade gauge in the same manner as the other rerolling options.

Players can choose to upgrade an item with a specific stat, or reroll affixes. The possible stat ranges for an Best item upgrade are determined by the level of the item, but every item is guaranteed to have at minimum one stat within the specified range, unless it's an exclusive item or a God roll from a boss in a raid.

Another thing that could be changed by adding the option to upgrade the equipment without rolling the affixes or choosing which stats to boost. But as with base equipment, this would have to be performed on a per-item basis and the interface for item comparison will not show all the stats that could be that were gained or lost at the same time.

Item Luck

The Luck stat for a player adds up to increase the likelihood of finding items as well as the properties that appear on loot drops, and the intensity of these properties. It doesn't, however directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It simply gives the player a chance to acquire better equipment in earlier waves and is thus more valuable in early game runs as opposed to later ones, because most players value greater weapon scaling and defense over damage gains.

Luck can also increase the likelihood of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This is not to confuse with the Blacksmith’s overall chance of upgrading that increase with each item level. They can also be enhanced by using anti-materials such as the Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

The shields, armor and weapons have the default Luck value of 40. These items can then be enhanced by golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the item's material type) to grant an additional +40 Luck, or to increase the luck of an item up to 140.

Certain items, like the weapon that is infused with hollow, can also be equipped to increase the damage dealt by any ability that deals damage by 5%. These items can be purchased in the shop or crafted with the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Upgrades to items are a costly process and not every upgrade will be successful. Cash shop items can be used to boost the chance of success of an upgrade or to prevent players from losing their item in the event that it is not successful.

The success rate of an upgrade is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the chance of completing the upgrade successfully and it can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The chance of success can only be increased so much, and the likelihood that an upgrade will fail cannot be greater than 100%..

The luck of an item may affect the success of an upgrade. All items have an initial success rate of 25% and every item that has Luck increases the chance of success by an additional five percent.

It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the items in the inventory therefore enchantment glints and other effects may be masked by them. If you wish to disable the upgrade item overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
