What is an item upgrading Upgrader in Pokemon Go?

The item upgrader adds a new widget to the top of the Angel and Cash Upgrade windows. The Manager is priced at 33 billion Angel Investors, and has no benefit in terms of gameplay other than making it easier to purchase upgrades.

Boosts

With an item upgrade upgrader you will be able to enjoy a number of bonuses. These can include stats, as well as additional bonuses. These bonuses can be incorporated into weapons or armor, as well trinkets. They can be used to improve the capabilities of a character, or give a new dimension of variety to their build.

The amount of extras gained when upgrading depends on the amount of upgrades completed. Each upgrade will increase the number of extras by a maximum of 3 points. Each upgrade will also increase the stats in the main menu by +1.

Some upgrades also give you a secondary random boost in addition to stat enhancements. These boosts are important and should be considered when deciding which items to upgrade. Some of these boosts are only useful in specific builds (such as Whistan's shield for FB sorcs) while others can provide an enormous amount of value to specific collectors.

Some items come with built-in boos, which is less effective when upgraded. For instance the Goldwrap provides extra slots for potion. These are often upp'd to add value to the perfect or nearly perfect item.

Costs

Upgrades come with a few associated costs. The first is the cost to perform the upgrade. This price is contingent on the item's new ilvl and the number of perks it will gain and is often expensive. Upgrades to higher levels (such as Explorer to Champion or Veteran to Heroic) can be costly.

The other is the cost of the items required for an upgrade. The items used for upgrades are usually either Power Dices (dropped by monsters 21and up) or Minerals and Erons (obtainable by completing specific Mists of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor quests). The amount of these materials required can be seen in the inventory of an upgrade vendor.

It takes time to upgrade an item. It can take up to 8 hours, depending on the magnitude of the upgrade. The upgraded item's base stats are calculated based on the new ilvl of the item, perks, and other properties. This calculation determines the new Armor Class bonuses, damage dice, as well as other important statistics. In some cases the upgrade can grant additional benefits that can be chosen from a list of available perks.

In rare instances, the upgrade will replace only the most expensive benefits. The upgrader can also make other adjustments to the item, such as changing its weapon damage type or eliminating an operational or unwieldy function. Success Rate

You can also add other materials to the upgrade to increase the chance of success. The materials are displayed in a window above the + button. There are a few limitations. The maximum amount of material you can upload is shown directly above the + button.

A Blacksmith Blessing or an upgraded version thereof, can be used to boost the chances of an upgrade being successful. This item can be helpful in the event that your item or weapon is near or has reached the top level of its level. This item will allow you upgrade the equipment to the next tier without risking its breaking.

If an upgrade is unsuccessful the system will be returned to its original state. This is typically a break, but it can also be a downgrade. Save an upgrade until you're close to the maximum level for an item.

There are many items in the Kafra shop that can be used to increase the likelihood of an upgrade succeeding. For example upgrading an equipment using HD Oridecon or HD Elunium multiple times will give you more chance of success.
