Seats
Most
3 wheel running stroller wheel double buggies begin as single pushchairs. However, some can be converted to accept an additional seat by using adapters. You'll also see that some models allow you to add a ride-on board to older children who would like to walk, but need a little help.
Take a look at the Joie Evalite Duo for a lightweight option perfect for urban streets. It's easy to maneuver and comes with a deep basket with plenty of storage space. It can accommodate twins from at birth and can accommodate two car seats or a carrycot with seat. However, the seats have to be oriented forward and there's no room for a shopping bag under and you'll need a sidepack for that.
Mountain Buggy Duet will be an ideal choice if you enjoy off-road driving. It's a side-by-side with the slimmest footprint of any double buggy on the market. This makes it easier to squeeze through doors that are narrow and on public transport, and enables you to climb up and down kerbs with no trouble. The adjustable handlebar comes with a handbrake for added safety and security.
Another option that is light weight is the UPPAbaby Vista 2 Double that can be used to accommodate twins or a toddler and a baby. The seats come with multi-position recline and UPF 50+ sunshades, and the canopy can be adjusted to keep the sun from your child's eyes. The Vista 2 can be converted into an UPPAbaby triple by incorporating UPPAbaby's 'PiggyBack’ board for older children.
The iCandy Orange is one of the most sought-after double buggies available due to its outstanding comfort. It's an all terrain pushchair, with a soft suspension to make smooth work of bumpy surfaces. It has 30 different seating configurations, a built-in board for older children who like to walk and a 'cinema mode that raises the back seats for better visibility.
The phil&teds dots are brilliant single buggys that can be easily adapted to take two (or three!) Different configurations are possible. This is especially useful if you have an infant in a car seat, since the frame can be equipped with a wedgie that allows for optimal lying flat, or car seat adapters to various brands.
Suspension
The quality of the suspension on a
3 wheel stroller with seat wheel double buggy is essential to how it will be easy for you and your baby to push. A smooth ride is essential because babies feel every bump on the road, particularly if it's on rough terrain such as grass or unpaved paths. Some models have locking front tires that help maneuver and get over obstacles like curbs.
Certain models come with air-filled tyres that are ideal for all-terrain riding, but they can be prone punctures. Make sure you have a spare set of tyres in your trunk. Some models have gel-filled or foam-filled tyres that are designed to absorb bumps. They are less likely to puncture, however they may cause discomfort for your child if you choose to jog.
Our award winning side-by-side duet buggy has a brilliant suspension that will get you over any terrain comfortably and with ease which makes it the ideal buggy for city walks. You can even upgrade the duet by adding our dual kit in order to accommodate two children - all within the same footprint!
MFM reviewer Kath tried the Urban Glide 2 with her newborn and 3-year-old and found it exceptionally adept on terrains that are difficult to traverse. "It navigated effortlessly across grass and bumpy sidewalks cobbles, dirt tracks and was easy for me to navigate around corners and get up or down kerbs." The 16" rear wheels, coupled with the lockable swivel wheel on the front, make it an extremely stable
jogging 3 wheel stroller experience. The Urban Glide 2 has a lot of features, such as large seats with padded cover, hood with 50+ UV protection and rechargeable and easy-to use visibility lights.
Folding
A
3 wheel stroller reversible seat-wheel double buggy can fold pretty well for storage. There are models that fold flat and stand up (as though they were in the shape of a pushchair) and those that pop out to reveal a more umbrella-like folding that has the option of a hand-operated break. The more wheels a buggy has, in general, the easier it is to maneuver over rough terrain. This is particularly applicable if the wheels are larger than the average. This will provide you with more stability and decrease the likelihood that your children are likely to tip over or fall over.
The iCandy Wave is a popular choice. It can be used in conjunction with an infant car seat from birth and then converted into a double buggy side-byside when your child is older. It is a lightweight option that is simple to push. It also comes with a bumper bar and a raincover.
The phil&teds sports is an alternative option. It is future-proof as it is brilliant as a buggy and can be adapted to take two (or three!) All of this fits into its compact footprint. It features a clever three-wheel design with a sling for better manoeuvrability and stability.
If you're looking to jog with your children this is the ideal double buggie for jogging because it comes with a lockable swivel front wheel that helps you keep your balance when you're tackling off-road or hilly tracks. It also comes with a large undercarriage basket, an adjustable handlebar, and a soft suspension to ensure a comfy ride.
It's a lightweight and compact model that can be folded with one hand and is ideal for travel. It is compatible with many infant car seats, and includes a handy undercarriage bag to store items. It's a bit on expensive side but does have a few standout features that make it a good price, including its easy one-click fold and a host of other features, such as a bumper bar and raincover.
Storage
One thing that people appreciate about a great triple wheeled double buggy is the storage capacity. Some models, such as the Roma Atlas, have a large basket, as well as two zip pockets on the hood where you can keep your keys and phone. It is also designed to withstand a bit rough terrain which makes it a great option for family walks or all-terrain walks.
Other models, such as the UPPAbaby Vista 2, offer plenty of space and the possibility of transporting twins or two toddlers and a child. (This is made possible by their 'PiggyBack' system). It's the smallest side-by-side double on the market and it comes with some amazing technology that includes games-changing LED lights on each side of the frame to increase safety in low light conditions.
For something different and unique, the Joie Evalite Duo is a light buggy that can hold twins from birth (it's facing the world and can be used in the ability to lie flat). Its clever frame expands to accommodate an extra seat, but still weighs just 11kg. This makes it simple to lift and maneuver. It can be used with the car seat, a carrycot or both. This lets you get the best of all worlds.
