This projector is very good at grayscale OOTB. The smallest DeltaE error is 2.3 (which is barely noticed by a trained eye). It also showed a lot of subtle differences in color, such as when Adam struck his light-staff into the ground.
Other features include 3D support keystone correction, as well as automatic focus. These features simplify installation and setup. It also supports the standard BenQ setup options. However, it doesn't include a lens shift feature or vertical focus. It has the ability to digitally alter images that can be useful in less-than-perfect installations however it can affect the image quality.
GP500 Platinum
The GP500 also comes with a variety of common and a few not so common convenience and quality of life features like Keystone and Corner Fit which digitally warp the image to aid in installations that aren't ideal, an Toslink optical Audio Out jack that mutes the built-in speaker when headphones are connected or an alternative speaker system is connected such as Keystone and Corner Fit, and Bluetooth function that lets it function as a wireless receiver to play music playback. 3D playback is also supported.
Subjectively, I discovered that the GP500 had very accurate grayscale OOTB. I found a DeltaE value of just 2.3, which is less than the amount that is visible to the naked eye. This is quite impressive. The Dynamic Contrast feature really added depth to the a few night scenes in Life of Pi and the colors on display were excellent as well. Avatar looked great too.
GP500 Black
The GP500 has opening tabs both on the left and right sides of the shield. It is Pinlock Max Vision ready. It features a shield locking system to prevent it from opening during riding (or in the event of an accident). There's a double-d ring fastener to the rear of the helmet, and it's non-tool-operated.
The auto-focus worked very well and produced clear images with many distinct shades. It was unable to cope with the dark scenes at night in Life of Pi but overall it created a cinematic vibe.
There are no race rep graphics for the GP500, but you can buy Airoh Sectors and Cosmos with a black-colored finish. You can also purchase it with Rockstar Drive and Check graphics to give it a more track focused appearance.

Other notable features include 3D playback that can be controlled via the built-in DLP-Link glasses. It's nice to see that this projector is still able to support this feature, especially considering that some brands have dropped it recently.
The GP500 White also has several regular and not-so-common quality of life features such as Keystone and Corner Fit (which is digital image warping). These features can be useful for less-than ideal installations as they make it easier to display a flat picture. However, they can affect the quality of the image. This is an important consideration to be aware of. The GP500 offers a superior grayscale performance OOTB, and has produced extremely clear and distinct shades.
