Robots That Vacuum and MopRobots that vacuum and mop offer the convenience of cleaning both dry debris (dust dirt) and wet messes (spills or stains) in one session without the need to change devices. They also can save space when compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will offer excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models with docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, fill their water tanks, and wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has a lot to offer at a low cost, and it's among the easiest robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking is easy and the quick-start guide gets you up and running in no time. You'll have a an entire dust bag, water tank, and hard floor solution.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can
automatic vacuum and mop and mop well. The mops are spun at a high speed and utilize 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to take away pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, a variety of attachments and brushes and an intuitive app which lets you choose the type of cleaning you'd like for each room.
You could, for instance, ask the
robot vacuum to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly, but leave the spare bedroom alone. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and smart navigation technology are also excellent, with the robot being capable of detecting small obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. Its only minor issue is that it tends to hit objects and walls at full speed. However, an instant glance at the cleaning history in the app tells you exactly what it's doing, where it's going, and which obstacles it's avoided.
A handy LCD screen on the docking station shows you when maintenance tasks need to be done like emptying the debris tray, and washing the water tank that is dirty. It is also able to mix detergent into the tank automatically by using a 600ml eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop have plenty of run-time, with the mop able to operate for an 184-minute runtime in Quiet mode and the vacuum can last for 136 minutes in standard mode before having to recharge or return to the base to replenish. You can view the complete cleaning details within the app, which is clearly laid out and easily understood, though we would have liked to be able to distinguish between a mop only vacuum and mop and vacuum clean when looking at a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's most popular robot mop and vacuum. It's not like the model from last year it comes with two agitators in its mopping pad which greatly improves carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has improved suction power, allowing it to remove small hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners could be unable to pick up.
The Roborock model, like the other two I tried, has infrared and reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it avoid obstacles such as furniture, walls and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things a step further by incorporating a dual camera that can recognize objects and determine whether they are a wall or another type of surface. It can then automatically change its path and clean around them without missing a beat.
It's the most expensive model I've tested, but it also has the most features. Its sleek and angular design is eye-catching and it has only three physical buttons: the power button, which also resumes cleaning; a mop button that doubles as a child lock and a home button that can return the
best robot vacuum to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml trash bin and 200ml tank of water. The water tank is self-emptying, and the bin is
auto vacuum and mop-filling.
The only issue I encountered with this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't movable. You can change the mopping cloth if required, but it's a challenge to remove the mount for manual washing. I've noticed that any plush carpet the robot crosses will be in contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and that can cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can configure and manage these via the Roborock app that is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings, monitor battery life and component maintenance. However, you'll need to jump through a few hoops in order to enable voice control on this model which is unfortunate considering the quality of its performance.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40
robot vacuum and mop is an industry leader with cutting-edge features, high suction power and advanced mowing abilities. Its innovative design lets you to customize and efficiently clean while saving time.
The X40 is the first robotic vacuum cleaner that can deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which makes it one of the most effective options available. This powerful vacuum is able to clean up pet hair, crumbs and other dry messes. It also comes with a top-quality mop that makes hard floors sparkling clean, even with a wet pad. The X40 is also extremely quiet in operation and only occasionally bursting during mode changes or self-maintenance.
Another standout feature is the X40's expandable and liftable side brushes, that allows it to reach difficult-to-access corners as well as clean curved furniture like table and chairs' legs. It also lets the robot to get under low-profile furniture making it an ideal choice for small apartments and condos with tight spaces. The side brush automatically tilts down when it detects wet spots. This is a nice feature that enables the X40 to prevent damage to floors from excessive back-and forth movements.
In contrast to other robots that only focus on one thing, the X40 can perform mopping and vacuuming at the same time or separately. It can also be programmed to skip areas with carpets and mop only hard floors, and reverse the process. It can be controlled via the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operations.
The app is easy to use and understand, and the X40 is equipped with many clever features that are simple to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, view floor plans and mapping and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also monitor its progress and notify you when it is finished.
The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with numerous features that make it an ideal choice for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the trash bin into a 3.2 L bin, cleans the mop pads, then refills them with fresh water and cleaning solution. It can also detect when the mop pad is overflowing and notify you before it overflows, thus reducing the need for manual maintenance.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models on the market. It does have a number of features that make it stand out. The mops come with a brand new feature called Smart DuoScrub. This makes use of two mops with high-speed motors to clean floors more thoroughly than the standard method, and has an impressive suction power of 7,000Pa. This is higher than Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also remove pet hair, small dirt particles and pick up spills and soiled spots.
The mops are also dried and cleaned inside the base station after every use. This is a fantastic feature as it stops the build-up of mould and unpleasant odours in the storage area, and it also makes the mop system more efficient. This is an option we haven't seen on other robot mop and vacuum models. It could be a great method to keep your home cleaner longer.
There are many choices, including the possibility to schedule cleanings and change preferences. The app lets you set these preferences or you can utilize the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and offers a variety of options to customize your cleaning routine. It also offers many features that aren't available on other robots, for instance the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects dust particles.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen in the market, with a white and metallic design that looks classy and sophisticated. It's a little heavier than some of the other two-in-one robots on this list, at 4kg however it's not overly heavy either, and it is sturdy and well-built. The mopping system is also well-designed and the double-rotating mop works well on hard floors or in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to extend up to 2mm below the baseboards.
