The Best Robot Hoover
The
best automatic vacuum and mop robot hoover can vacuum and mop without needing your attention, and it leaves your floors spotless. Its price is surprisingly low and high-end features (such as dirt detection) are great features.

1. Roomba Q5 Pro
The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive counterpart the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums that we have test. They have motors that are top of the class and can handle up to 5,500 Pascals. Like other premium iRobot models (including the top-rated model), they use intelligent mapping technology to create detailed floor plans that avoid household obstacles such as cords and furniture legs. They also come with carpet boost that increases the robot's power when it detects the presence of dirt on the carpet in order to get it clean quickly.
Both the Q5 as well as the Q7 Max Series get very excellent scores in our floor tests that test for bare floors and are particularly effective at cleaning pet hair. However, they do have several flaws that prevent them from being our top pick. For instance, the Q5's navigation system doesn't feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology which means it's susceptible to getting hung up on shoes and socks and can't navigate rooms with a lot of people well in our tests. It doesn't also have a camera that can see around corners.
However, it's a good choice, especially if you want to save money on a Roomba from iRobot, and you have a bare-floored home or office. Additionally, it's quiet and you can use it while you're at work or school. It lacks the edge-to-edge bare floor vacuuming feature that's offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping, using disposable wet wipes that don't hold on for long and don't deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 does have a self-emptying dock, though. If you want to, you can swap the mopping pad to a dry one in just a few seconds.
2. IRobot Roomba X30
The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming into a compact, sleek package. Its smart cleaning maps and fluid navigation make it simple to clean, and effective in dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also features self-emptying dustbins as well as powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the
best robot hoover for carpets, but it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.
This top-performing mop and vacuum combination utilizes advanced sensors to avoid obstacles and pet waste and it learns the layout of your home over time to ensure more efficient cleaning. The app lets you customize zones and change the cleaning schedule. Its battery life is average when compared to similar models.
When the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted space, you can tell it to pull back and extend its mops. This helps prevent cross-contamination. The flex arm can be utilized to reach under furniture with low levels and along baseboards. It doesn't offer the same washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Professional+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.
During testing during testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop in the market to clean an entire house, finishing with only 66 percent of its battery left. It also did a
good robot vacuum job of cleaning a mix of rooms and floors with different flooring types, including some area carpets. Its obstacle detection was superb, and it avoided fake dog turds, socks, shoes and bundles of cables.
It's a little more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however it offers superior suction, an onboard dustbin that automatically fills up its base, and supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after it vacuums, a feature that we've not seen on other robotic vacuum/mop combos.
3. Roomba X40 from iRobot
The robot vacuum and mop combination has a sleek, circular look that looks much like a Roomba model than the boxy models of the competition. It's one of our most appealing looking robot vacuums. The latest model from iRobot is among the most intelligent, with advanced features including Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads).
It's also the only robot vacuum/mop that scored the perfect 10/10 out of 10 in our tests. This is due to a mix of high-tech sensors, including a structured lighting system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that is fully autonomously refill and empty its base station, and it has an its own self-cleaning mop pads.
As with other iRobot models like the X40 is easy to use, offering an intuitive mobile app interface as well as integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit as well as Google Assistant. The only drawback is that the X40 is still a loud unit. This can be a problem in the mornings before work, or in the evening when you are trying to fall asleep.
It's also a bit costly however, not as much as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally powerful and more attractive. If you're willing with a bit more noise and a little more cost, this is a very efficient two-in-one device that should delight most.
4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop, with a lot of advanced features that let you get rid of your chores. Like Ecovacs the range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that can take care of both vacuuming and mopping, with a multifunction dock that automatically empty the vacuum's dust bin, fills its water tank and washes and dry the mop pads.
The smart
robot vacuum that vacuums and mops makes use of the combination of LIDAR and structured light to draw out floor plans and identify obstacles, and navigates more effectively than some of its premium competitors. It also has a front-mounted camera to detect hazards in real-time however, it wasn't reliable in our tests and was often confused by power cords or other obstructions.
The vacuum cleaner comes with an maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to complete the task. It also features "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the amount of time the vac works and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of your home depending on how dirty they tend to be.
For larger houses, it's worth opting for one with zone or spot cleaning modes that let you tell the robot to clean a specific area of your home by using the app or via voice commands. If you have furniture, a stair-mode is also useful. Also a recharge and resume function that lets your robot vacuum pick up right where it left off is great for busy families.
iRobot RX3
The RX3 is a more efficient cleaner than you'd expect from its price tag. It is a good vacuum cleaner and picked up 55% debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses with one pad, which uses a reciprocating motion, which is cleaner than the other mop cleaners for robots we've tried. It's also extremely self-sufficient, with a fully-featured application, and a self-emptying base that can be washed.
The well-designed iRobot app guides you through an initial mapping exercise that collects information about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you have marked on the map. You can use it to create cleaning schedules, set up a spot clean or to sort out your rooms with the most dirt for better performance. The app offers a variety of options, including seasonal suggestions, customized mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.
Its shape is more rectangular than other
robot vacuum cleaner reviews vacuums, which means it can reach corners and underneath furniture more easily. It also has strong suction of 8,000 Pascal suction and intelligent combs for pet hair. You can also set up a spot-clean which will thoroughly clean a specific area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and cheaper alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras appear like cute eyes. It is excellent at vacuuming, but it is more likely to be caught on low thresholds. It is also louder than other top robot vacuums we have tested. It also comes with an app that's less intuitive and has a tiny base station that does not double as a bin for emptying.
