The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst for Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.
He evaluates and tests cleaning equipment, focusing on mopping and robot vacuum combos. Multitaskers are a great option for those who wish to take mopping off their to-do list. Some have great navigation and obstacles avoidance. Others even wash and refill mopping pads for a hands-free cleaning.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model you should pick if you are looking for an
automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It's smaller than the other options on this list making it easier to maneuver through tight corners and under furniture. It features a 220 degree lidar, which when combined with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it the
best robot cleaner navigation and object avoidance I've ever seen in a
robot vacuum cleaner best vacuum. It's powered by a 4600mAh battery that can last up to 170 mins when mopping and sucking is set to standard mode. (It can run longer on turbo). It will even return to its dock to replenish its battery mid-clean.
It is very efficient and does an outstanding job of cleaning my two-bedroom apartment. It vacuums the carpeted rooms incredibly quickly and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room, and hallways in a single pass. Its suction motor of 8,000pa is quick at picking up dirt, crumbs and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects carpets and the dual side brush assists in removing debris from corners.
The mopping performance is less impressive, but not by a lot. The mop's rotating mechanism spins fast and uses 2.2lbs to clean dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arm extends out a bit more than other robots. This is helpful when getting into difficult corners or along baseboards. Those same front arms can also be used to sweep up larger debris, like broken toys and fallen books.
Another good thing is that the S1 Pro is one of the most quiet robot vacuums and mops I've ever tried. It doesn't create as loud of a sound when mopping or vacuuming and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it has to use a proprietary mopping solution and is sold separately. It is simple to install, and it works well. However, if you are buying this robot vacuum to mop, you will need to be aware of this.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It has a robust suite of features that make it a great option for homeowners looking for a highly effective, versatile, and customizable cleaning machine.
The device is equipped with an impressive and powerful cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensors and an RGB camera to map the house and detect furniture and other obstacles. It then uses this information to clean effectively and efficiently. This will result in a thorough, consistent clean that is also quite quick.
The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad can reach a variety of surfaces. This includes baseboards, corners and other difficult to reach places. They also have a stretchy side brush that can be extended to reach the floor close to walls and other fixtures. The mop pads can also be washable and dry to reduce odors and prevent buildup.
Another noteworthy feature is the customization options that are available through apps. The Q Revo lets you adjust the suction level and select an back-and-forth or random pattern. You can also select the number of passes, which determines how fast it can move around your home. You can also choose to disable the side brush to avoid damaging carpets and rugs.
This device has a fairly expensive price, but is packed with a wide array of innovative features. It's important to remember that it carries periodic costs, such as mopping equipment and maintenance. For instance the brushroll should be replaced every six to 12 months or after 300 hours. The filter is to be cleaned every 150 hours, and the mop pads should be changed every three months.
This robotic vacuum cleaner has a high rating on Amazon and includes a broad variety of physical automation features. The robot vacuum also has an energy button that doubles as the 'Clean button' and a Home button that allows it to go back home after cleaning. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically emptys the trash bin and refills its water tank for mopping and washes and dries its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
If you're a professional with a lot of work or someone who just wants a cleaner home without spending a lot of time on chores, the Shark Matrix Plus is a excellent choice. Its incredibly fast performance, sophisticated navigation and long battery life make it easy to keep a clean home with minimal effort.
The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is an all-in-one mop and vacuum. It is able to perform vacuuming as well as mopping. The robot is divided into two parts, a dry bin and water tank that can be easily snapped in and out and a mopping module which has microfiber pads. It's not the most modern thing to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping however it does mean that you don't have to worry about changing the bags for disposables or refilling the tank with water.
The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming and mopping. Its best feature is its precise floorplan map, which it uses when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate effortlessly between rugs, furniture, and other obstacles. The app also offers the option of setting "No-Go zones" as well as virtual barriers, which help to shield certain areas of your home from being swept with mop.
The Matrix Plus also did a amazing job of collecting hair of pets. It was able to capture many of the hair shed by our cats, and even got into some of the corners and crevices of our stairs, where other robots had struggled. The noise levels were low and there were nice jingles to signal that it was beginning and getting its work done.
Its biggest drawbacks were its lack of sophistication and the necessity to switch out the modules when switching between vacuuming and mopping. The app can't store multiple maps, which can be a hassle when you live in a house with multiple floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those who want a smart robot that can do both mopping and vacuuming.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive of our review. However, it does have certain unique features that are worth a look. The X1 Omni's biggest draw is its enormous dock which serves as the robot's charging base and housing for two 4-liter water tanks, a clean sink, and the 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically eliminates.
The base also has a number of control buttons that let you manually start a cleaning job and then recall the robot or run the dock's auto-emptying process. Press two buttons to turn off the child lock. This is a wonderful feature for parents who are worried about their kids messing around with the vacuum.
The Omni Omni like other robotic vacuums, utilizes its camera to identify obstacles and furniture in its path. It will avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.
The X1 can be prone to become stuck if it gets caught in a hazard like a power cable draped over a rug. It will not work until you manually untangle it. This was a rare occurrence however it was frustrating because the X1 doesn't have a "stuck status" alert on its application.
Another potential downside is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically change between vacuuming and mopping modes during a cleaning session. You'll have to manually swap between the two modes, which isn't an issue except for the fact that mopping pads haven't been cleaned and dried between uses which could lead to mildew or mold.
On the bright side the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking
robot vacuum cleaners uk thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who dreamed up its modern, sleek base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a major departure from the utilitarian, black bases of competitors like Roborock and iRobot and a pleasing appearance in a market which is dominated by clunky boxy models.
