The Best
robot vacuum cleaner Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst for Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.
He conducts tests and reviews of cleaning appliances. His main focus is robot vacuums, and mopping combinations. Multitaskers are a great choice for those who want to get mopping off their to-do list. They feature impressive mapping and obstacle avoidance, and some even wash and refill their own mopping pads for a hands-off clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model you need to pick if you are looking for an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It's smaller than other models and makes it more maneuverable in tight spaces or under furniture. It has a 220-degree lidar, which when combined with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the
best robot vacuum and mop navigation and object avoidance I've ever seen in a robot vacuum. It comes with a massive 4600mAh battery that lasts for up to 170-minutes if mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can last longer in turbo). It can even return to its dock to recharge its battery during the cleaning.
It's fast and does an excellent job cleaning my two-bedroom apartment. It cleans the carpeted rooms incredibly quickly and hardwood floors in the kitchen, hallways, and living room in one go. The motor's 8,000pa power allows it to pick up dirt hair, pet hair, and poop with ease. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects carpets and the dual side brush helps to remove debris from corners.
The mopping performance, though still impressive, is not as good. The mop's rotating mechanism spins fast and uses 2.2lbs to scrub dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arm protrudes out a little more than other robots. This is useful when you're trying to get into difficult corners or along baseboards. Those same front arms can also be employed to clean larger pieces of debris, such as broken toys and books.
The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've tried. It doesn't create the same amount of noise when mopping or vacuuming, and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it needs to use a mopping solution that is proprietary and is sold separately. It's simple to install and is effective however this is something you'll have to be aware of when you purchase this vacuum for the sole purpose of it mopping.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It is a powerful cleaning machine with a range of features.
The device has an impressive and powerful cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensors and an RGB camera to map the home and locate furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean intelligently and effectively. This will ensure an efficient and consistent cleaning, while also being relatively rapid.
In terms of mopping, Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads are capable of reaching many different surface areas. These include corners, baseboards, and other hard-to-reach areas. They also come with a stretchy side brush that extends to the floor in close proximity to walls and other fixtures. Additionally, the mop pads can be cleaned and dried to prevent the build-up of dust and reduce the smell.
App-based customization is yet another noteworthy feature. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the amount of suction and select between a back-andforth, or a more randomized pattern. You can also select the number of passes which will determine how quickly it can move around your home. You can also decide to turn off the side brush to avoid damaging rugs and carpets.
The device is costly, but it comes with a lot of smart features. However, it's important to keep in mind that it has regular costs, such as mopping supplies and maintenance. For instance the brushroll needs to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to 12 months. The filter is to be cleaned every 150 hrs, and the mop pads should be changed every one to three month.
This robot vacuum that mops is rated highly on Amazon and offers a wide array of physical automation features. The robot vacuum also has an energy button that doubles as the 'Clean button' and a Home button to send it back home after cleaning. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically emptys the dustbin, refills its water tank and washes and dry its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
If you're a professional with a lot of work or just want to have a clean home without spending much time doing chores then the Shark Matrix Plus is a good choice. It is a powerful machine with intelligent navigation, and long battery life that makes it simple to keep your home tidy with little effort.
The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop, which means it can handle mopping and vacuuming. The
robot vacuum cleaner best is divided into two parts that include a dry bin as well as a water tank that can be easily snapped in and out and a mopping unit that is equipped with an elastomer pad. It's a little old-fashioned to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping, but it does mean you don't need to worry about changing out disposable bags or refilling the tank with water.
Our testers found that the Matrix Plus did a great job of vacuuming and mopping. Its best feature is its precise floorplan map, which it utilizes when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate between rugs, furniture, and other obstacles. The app also gives you the option of setting "No-Go zones" as well as virtual barriers, which can help to keep specific areas of your home from being cleaned with mop.
We also discovered that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in picking up pet hair. It was able capture a large amount of hair shed by our cats and even got into the nooks and crannies of our stairs which other robots struggled. The noise levels were low and there were lovely jingles that signal that it was beginning and getting its work done.
Its biggest drawbacks were its simplistic app and the necessity to change out the modules whenever switching between vacuuming and mopping. The app can't hold multiple maps, which can be a pain for homes that has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a ideal choice for people who want a smart device that can vacuum and mop.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni is the most expensive
robot vacuum that mops in our review, however it comes with some distinct features that are worth a look. The X1 Omni's main draw is its enormous dock that doubles as the robot's charging base as well as housing for two 4-liter water tanks, a cleaning sink, and a 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically empties.
The base has a couple of buttons for control that let you manually start a cleaning task, recall the robot or run the dock’s
auto vacuum and mop-emptying procedure. Press two buttons to turn off the child lock. This is a wonderful feature for parents worried about their children messing around with the vacuum.
The Omni Omni, like other robotic vacuums, utilizes its camera to identify obstacles and furniture in its path. It will stay clear of them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.
Unfortunately, this means that the X1 Omni will occasionally get caught up in obstacles, like an electrical cord dangling across a rug that it becomes stuck and ceases to function until you manually free it. This was a rare occurrence, but frustrating nonetheless, because the X1 doesn't have an "stuck status" alert in its app.
Another issue that could be a problem is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between vacuuming and mopping modes during a cleaning session. You'll have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad but mopping pads don't get cleaned or dried between uses. This could lead to mildew and mold.
On the bright side it's worth noting that the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who conceptualized its modern and sleek base as well as mopping pad apparatus. It's a big change from the utilitarian all-black bases that are used by rivals like Roborock and iRobot and is a refreshing sight in a space that is dominated by clunky, boxy units.
