The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.

He reviews and tests cleaning equipment, with a focus on robot vacuum cleaners best vacuums and mopping combos. These multitaskers can be ideal for those who want to eliminate mopping from their list of things to do. Some models have superior mapping and obstacle avoidance. Some wash and refill mopping pads themselves to ensure a hands-free clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

This is the model you should choose if you want an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It's smaller than other options on this list which makes it easier to maneuver through tight corners and under furniture. It features a 220 degree lidar, which when combined with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the best navigation and object avoidance I've ever seen in a robot vacuum. It's got a battery of 4600mAh that can last up to 170 minutes if mopping and sucking is set to standard mode. (It can run longer when it is set to turbo). It will even return to the dock to top up its battery part way through an efficient.

It's quick and does an excellent job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms extremely quickly and hardwood floors in the kitchen, hallways, and living room in one go. Its 8,000pa motor is able to clean dirt, pet hair, and droppings effortlessly. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it comes in contact with carpets and the two side brushes help pull out dirt from corners.

The mopping performance, though still impressive, is not as effective. The rotating mop spins fast and utilizes 2.2lbs to clean dirt and stains. I've also noticed that the front arms protrude out a bit more than other robots, which can be helpful to get into tight corners and along baseboards. The front arms can also be used to scoop up larger debris like books and broken toys.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot vacuum cleaner reviews mops and vacuums I've tried. It doesn't produce the same amount of noise when mopping or vacuuming and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it must use a mopping solution that is proprietary and is sold separately. It's simple to set up and works well however this is something that you'll need to keep an eye on in case you're purchasing this vacuum for the sole purpose of mopping.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo is different from other robot cleaner with mop vacuums in its class. It has a robust suite of features that make it an ideal choice for homeowners who want a highly effective, versatile and ad-hoc cleaning machine.

The device comes with a powerful cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensor technology with an RGB camera. This allows it to map out the house, detect furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean effectively and effectively. This ensures an efficient and consistent cleaning, while also being relatively fast.

In terms of mopping, the Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can be used to reach an array of surfaces. This includes baseboards, corners and other difficult to reach areas. The side brush can be stretched out to extend to the floor, close to walls and other fixtures. Additionally, the mop pads can be dried and washed to avoid build-up and lessen the smell.

App-based customization is a different interesting feature. The Q Revo lets you adjust the suction level and select either a back-and-forth or a random pattern. You can also choose the number of passes, which determines how fast it can move around your home. You can also decide to turn off the side brush to prevent damaging carpets and rugs.

It's expensive, but it comes with a lot of smart features. It's crucial to note that it incurs periodic costs in the form of mopping equipment and maintenance. For example, the brushroll will need to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to twelve months. The filter is to be cleaned every 150 hrs, and the mop pads must be changed every three month.

This robotic vacuum cleaner has a high rating on Amazon and offers a wide variety of physical automation features. This includes a power button that serves as a general "Clean' button and a 'Home button that will take it back to its base station after completing the cleaning process. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically emptys the dustbin, refills its water tank, and cleans and dry its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

Its incredibly fast performance, sophisticated navigation and long battery life make it simple to maintain a clean home with little effort.

The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop which means it is able to handle mopping and vacuuming. The robot is divided into two components, a dry bin and water tank that can be snapped in and out and a mopping unit that includes microfiber pads. It's a bit old-fashioned to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping however it does mean you don't have to fret about changing disposable bags or refilling the tank of water.

The Matrix Plus performed well at vacuuming and mopping. Its best automatic vacuum feature was its accurate floorplan, which it uses to create the path to follow when cleaning. This made it a breeze for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture rug, furniture and other obstacles. The app allows you to create 'No-Go Zones' and virtual barriers to stop certain areas from being cleaned by mopping.

We also noticed that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in removing hair from pets. It was able to capture a large amount of hair that our cats shed and even found its way into the nooks and crannies of our stairs which other robots struggled. It was relatively quiet and had some pleasant jingles that signalled when it was about to start or completing its task.

Its main drawbacks were its lack of sophistication and the necessity to change out the modules whenever switching between mopping and vacuuming. The app doesn't have the capacity to store multiple maps, which can be a problem when you live in a house that has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those who want an intelligent robot that is capable of vacuuming and mopping.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive item in our review. It does however, have distinct features that make it worth considering. The X1 Omni's biggest draw is its massive dock which serves as the robot's charging base and housing for two 4-liter water tanks, a sink for cleaning as well as an automatic 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically emptys.

The base also has a variety of control buttons that let you manually start cleaning, recall the robot, or start the dock's auto-emptying process. Hold down two buttons to toggle a child lock, which is a nice feature for parents who are worried about their children playing with the vacuum.

Similar to other robotic vacuums, the X1 Omni utilizes its camera to spot furniture and obstacles in its path and avoid them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system will map your home 10 times faster than conventional laser detection systems and is four times more precise at finding objects.

The X1 can be prone to become stuck if it gets caught in a blockage like the power cable that is draped over a rug. It won't work until you untangle it manually. This was a rare occurrence however it was frustrating because the X1 doesn't have a "stuck status" alert in its application.

Another possible issue is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically change between vacuuming and mopping modes during a cleaning session. You will have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't that bad but mopping pads don't get cleaned or dried between use. This can lead to mildew and mold.

On the bright side it's worth noting that the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who dreamed up its modern and sleek base as well as mopping pad. It's a huge contrast to the basic black bases of rivals such as Roborock or iRobot. It's also an excellent choice for the market that is dominated by boxy models.
