Top Black Friday and Cyber Monday Robot Vacuum Deals
If you've ever wanted to get a robot vacuum, now is the time to get one. CNET's top-rated models are available for sale this Black Friday and Cyber Monday with savings of up to 57%..
The Roborock Q7 Max offers strong pressure and smart mapping using apps-based no-go zones, and its 180-minute runtime is awe-inspiring. It also automatically refills and self-empties its water tank.
1. Roomba j7+ iRobot from iRobot.
The Roomba J7+, iRobot's most advanced robot to date is the Roomba j7+. Its biggest advancement is an obstacle detection system that uses built-in AI to detect objects such as charging cords, shoes, and the pet waste that the majority of other robots cannot avoid (and often plough right through). It's also the first robot to automatically send you photos of an object it encounters so you can tell it to avoid it in the future.
The Combo J7+ is the best robot mop we have ever tested. It removes dirt and spills effortlessly leaving no trace it was there. The iRobot app makes it easy to control. You can schedule cleanings and even create Keep Out Zones to ensure it doesn't vacuum in areas you don't wish to. And it's compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can start and stop it using your voice.
The design is also superior to the other models. It has a sleek, top piece that appears like an toy, not the loud and annoying robot. Clean Base's
automatic cleaning robot Dirt removal System also
self cleaning vacuum cleaner-empties, which can cut down on cleaning time.
In our tests, we found that the j7+ quickly eliminated dirt, dust and hair from pets. The rubber brushes that counter-rotate kept the debris in place, instead of scattering it across the floor. It was able to capture small pieces of gravel, sand, and even a bit of grit. Most robots can't achieve this feat. And all this without getting tangled up in our pet's hair shedding.
The j7+, though not as intelligent as the Roomba S9 for $1,217+ Self-Emptying Vacuum from iRobot and cannot clean the stairs, is still an excellent choice for those who want both mopping and
automatic vacuum cleaners. It's not too expensive and the iRobot App makes it easy to use.
The iRobot Home App is easy to use, however we found it less reliable as other robotic cleaner apps. It can take a while to download updates and it is sometimes difficult to determine whether they're working until you actually see them in action.
2. Roborock Q5+
When you're looking for an
automated vacuum cleaner that can do more than simply clean floors, the best option is probably a hybrid. This category of bots typically includes a built-in water tank that allows them to vacuum and mop your home at the same time. They also have a range of additional features, such as smart mapping, small obstacle avoidance, and the ability to dry and wash mopping pads. The downside is that they tend to be expensive at retail price, but on Black Friday and Cyber Monday they usually drop in price.
Roborock makes some of our top robot vacuums, and the Q5+ isn't an exception. It's their cheapest auto-empty model. While it's not equipped with some of the premium features found on higher-end models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's still an excellent choice if you're willing to compromise a bit in order to save a few hundred dollars.
The Q5+ is exceptionally gentle when it comes down to obstacles like table legs and walls. This makes it an excellent choice for homes that have many furniture pieces. It's also extremely thorough in getting rid of dust bunnies which is an area where many cheaper robot vacuums fail. The navigation technology in the Q5+ is excellent and has very few missing in corners and on walls.
Like other Roborock devices like the Q5+, the Q5+ can be controlled using a few buttons on the device or via the Roborock app. Through the app, you can begin and stop cleanings, set schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go zones, and alter your home map, or change the labels of rooms.
If you choose the Q5+ it comes with a brand new auto emptying dock that is designed to make the robot easier to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver but once it's installed it can be done without difficulty. It features a large LCD screen that is very useful in setting up schedules and adjusting settings. This isn't a necessary feature for the majority of people however it can help you keep the track of your robot's maintenance intervals easily.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a sophisticated well-rounded mop and vacuum. It's capable of both mopping and vacuuming. Its design and features are some of the best on the market however it's expensive.
The base station is attractive and is easily hidden when not in use, and the dimensions are quite small. But the station's biggest selling factor is its ability to automate numerous tasks and functions that other robots leave up to you. It can store clean and dirty water, and then electrolyze and heat the water. The majority of other robots require this.
Its vacuuming performance is also impressive. It's the only robovac I've tested that does well at picking up the dust from floors with no. It's also not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.
The Freo X Ultra is not free of faults, especially in the area of navigation. Its laser and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as other robovacs, meaning it can get stuck or confused in certain rooms or corners of the home. It also can't climb stairs like other models and isn't equipped with a dock to create a cleaning zone for plush carpets.
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is an excellent choice for those who want a robot vacuum that does it all.
If you're looking for a way to save money or aren't averse to the limitations of the robot, there are many other options on the market. A lot of eufy models are substantially less. The eufy Qrevo Curv, for example, is cheaper and offers a similar in-app experience with more features like stairs, a fully-function dock, and better overall performance when vacuuming floors as well as high- and low-pile carpets.
4. eufy RoboVac G30
eufy, an Anker company, has a track record of producing robot vacuums that strike the right balance between performance, features and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different, offering a capable cleaning of hard floors and carpets and mopping function too at an affordable price point. It's easy to setup by snapping one of the side brushes on, switch it on, and plug it into the charging dock. The app will guide you through the steps required to connect your G30 to your Wi-Fi. The dock will need to be placed near an outlet with plenty of space to move.
The G30 is small, 2.85 inches tall to be exact and can be placed under couches and other low-clearance furniture. Its design is less ostentatious in comparison to other models. It has a sleek black finish with three buttons that are physical for Auto Cleaning start/pause (which scrubs the area in a spiral pattern over two minutes) Recharge, and Spot Cleaner. You can also link the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to perform cleaning that is not scheduled using voice commands.
The way the G30 cleans is what sets it apart from other models. It uses a built-in mapping to create an image of immovable objects it encounters and then keeps track of what it has already cleaned and the areas it's not able to access. When it needs to recharge, it returns to its base, and then resumes cleaning from where it left off.
The sleek G30 has a few issues. The iRobot Roomba is better built and has lower recurring costs. It is faster to charge, has a similar battery life, and performs better on unfinished floors or low-pile carpet. It also has a larger dust bin that doesn't have to be emptied as frequently and comes with a set of boundaries to keep it away from certain areas. The G30 is, however is less expensive and is much simpler to maintain. Its smaller container means it doesn't need to be emptied as frequently, and it has less trouble with bulky materials such as cereal.
