Then, construct an end pillar stack on top of this base by laying 3-4 pieces of wood on top of each other, and then putting another piece on the opposite side, with bigger gaps at each end. Continue building pillars for up to 12 rows, making sure that there is plenty of space between each one for air to move through the pile.

Then use a center stake to hold the stack in place and start adding perpendicular pieces to the edges of the stack. Tie them together in the middle with string. Repeat this process until you reach the maximum height of your wall. You can then complete the interior with odd pieces and any pieces that are too big for the outer rows. Indoor stacking requires an area with a good airflow and plenty of natural light. Overcrowding can lead to damp and moldy wood. The ideal indoor space for stacking is typically a garage or basement.
