World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can increase the value of weapons, armors and rings. They also boost extra bonuses like damage from PvE and crit chance.
For instance a weapon that has the upgrade template that ends in % will gain 3damage to attack each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).
Item upgrading costs crests and the item's current level. The cost increases as the level of the item increases.
Components
Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, armor, and weapons in order to provide them with a boost in stats or to add an additional effect. They can be obtained by crafting, purchasing from vendors trading or looting. Certain upgrades have unique cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be inserted into any equipment that has a slot for them; the item must have been at least upgraded to the blue level for a component to be used. In contrast to other mods components can only be used once and cannot be applied multiple times or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are type of upgrade component used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or ascending equipment, as as some non-ascended items. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging ascended equipment or by completing a mission within the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.
An upgrade could be prefixed or a suffix changing the name of the equipment with which it is applied (for instancethe 'Canthan Armor Insignia is changed to Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity of an
item upgrader mod, which lets players to create stronger versions of the item using fewer upgrade crystals than they require to reach the same level using standard methods.
A boost upgrade can change the attack or defence attributes of an armored weapon or. These upgrades are available to be crafted from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed mechanic. These upgrades can be purchased by purchasing them in the cash shop or by collecting them from enemies when upgrading other equipment.
Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher-tier version of the
item upgrade will be available in the next reset. This gives players a reason to upgrade their equipment even if they are unsure how much it can be improved upon a reset.
The process of upgrading an item could be costly and it's possible that the item will become obsolete or even break in the event that the upgrade fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powders are also destroyed when the upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to reduce or eliminate the risk of failure. Certain upgrades also provide a bonus if they are reinserted.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to enhance the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets with special functions. Glyphs increase the power of nodes within a radius, and include any pre-existing affixes. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways. We recommend upgrading them as quickly as you can to level 15.
In the endgame you'll find that the most effective way to upgrade your equipment is to use Glyphs. These are the only upgrade components which can be upgraded to level 15 and provide significant boosts to your power on the Paragon Board.
The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced, however, Glyphs are only the one upgrade component that can be removed and put back in place without restrictions. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and re-placed using the aid of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
The value of each Glyph is displayed when you choose it in your inventory. You can replace it with another Glyph that is the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.
Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of a Gem Store bundle or purchase them with certain tools that are unlimited in use, and during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt can drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
After you have acquired the desired Glyphs you will require them to be put on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a special bonus that will boost the stats of a specific set of nodes in a radius surrounding the Glyph. This will either be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats depending on the Glyph.
Glyphs will boost all nodes that are connected to them, therefore it is best to put Glyphs in the most important locations on the Graph. This will increase the impact. Druids for instance should put their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might be able to place them near their most critical damage nodes.
Leveling
The item upgrading system allows players to improve the stats of specific items by putting upgraded components in them. This is also known as "upping". Each upgradeable item has an amount that determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded up to a maximum of 385. Each level of item requires different components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.
Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by making Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or purchased from some NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed earns a number of Technology Points. These points can be used to upgrading an item. When enough points have been earned you will be able to claim the upgrade and receive its additional bonuses.
When a player upgrades an item it is replaced with a new item of the same type. The same armor can be transformed into the form of a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will also have a unique bonus. This could be a drawback in that it could cause the item to become more expensive, even if you don't need it.
If the player has enough tokens they can reroll item upgrades. This causes the item to be traded for a new one, which will have a level 1 base and a different set of bonuses. This can be useful for certain items, however it's not something that should be done regularly, as it can waste many resources.
Certain upgrades can increase their value and allow players to personalize their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides an increase in power if the player is repeatedly in or leaves the water. This
item upgrade can be upgraded multiple times and increases the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item is highly valuable in PvP. A properly rolled version can be worth as much as 50x the value of the non-upgraded counterpart.
Requirements
Item upgrading allows players to boost the quality of their equippable equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets over ilvl 385 by offering the appropriate items and currencies to an NPC that upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces also increase its base defense, while upgrades to weapon items boost their base damage as well as their strength and dexterity.
Each item can be upgraded up to five times except for hero equipment, which is able to be upgraded eight times. Each time you upgrade a piece of equipment, it has a chance of failing. The rate of failure increases as you move beyond the maximum number. Failures will cause the item to go to its original condition, which requires the user to pay more for materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the maximum amount of upgrades.
If an item is not upgraded the experience bar in the bar for growth will be reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it gained like crit chance damage to attack, additional effects (such as an increase in healing over time or the speed of reloading). The player will be able to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.
Whenever an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that, if a weapon gains an increase in its crit chance it will be applied prior to any increase in attack damage. A new attribute called Slots is now added to the item definition and the value is recomputed every time an upgrade is applied.
The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is based on its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equal to its base value. For instance an item that is commonplace could have five upgrades for a price of. 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items have lower costs per upgrade.
Premium items might have different upgrade requirements from standard gear. For example they might require fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. The player will still need to take each piece of gear they want to upgrade to NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade costs listed above, each equipment upgrade will require the use of different ingredients for upgrading.
