Product Reviews
Izziwotnot’s Bailey Sleigh cot-bed isn't cheap, but it is stylish and well made. It's simple to put together, although it will require two people. It looks lovely in any nursery. The panel we tested loved the dark wood and dowel sides. It's robust enough to be used until your baby is a toddler. It also is compliant with British safety standards. The depth isn't so great that your child could climb out the panel, and the distance between slats should not exceed 65mm. This will prevent their heads from becoming stuck. It is important to remember that you will need to buy a mattress separately and that's an extra PS88.
The sleigh-shaped cot is really beautiful and makes it stand out from the others. It's also simple to put your baby in and out of it, which is an enormous benefit. It's a little bit more expensive than other cot beds, but our panel of experts thought it was worth the extra cost for the style and the durability.
The cot bed is available in country pine or walnut finishes. It can be used from the moment of birth. It comes with three mattress heights, so you can start your baby by putting the base up to make it easier to access them throughout the day and later lower it as they develop. It also comes with teething rails to protect your child's gums and their precious furniture. Once your baby grows out of the cot bed it is able to be easily transformed into a junior bed, and then it can be converted into a sofa.
Silver Cross' westport design is a different cot that has an excellent feel and is constructed to last. It can be used as a cot from birth, then later as a toddler bed, and then as a junior bed (toddler guard rail sold separately). Our panel members found it to be difficult to change from cot to bed, but their other half said it was easy and took less than five minutes to complete. It's also slightly more expensive than other cots but it's the kind of style that you'd probably want to keep for your children as they grow up.
