However unlike the i7+ and other top rated robots we test the i3+ doesn't have a feature for avoiding obstacles, so it may get stuck on things like socks or power cords, and it may have trouble traversing transitions across surfaces like from hardwood to rug.

iRobot recommends that you tidy the area in which the i3+ EVO vacuums before using it. This includes getting rid of any toys or clutter it might encounter. It's also a good idea to keep the bin and filter clean so they don't become clogged with dirt. The i7+ is faster and more maneuverable in our tests compared to the eufy RoboVac G30. It also picked up large pet hair pieces from all surfaces including carpeting. The biggest benefit over the eufy, though the dust bin is self-emptying, which removes a major source of maintenance and cuts down on the cost of maintenance.

We were also awestruck by the i7+'s integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services which we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning session, move itself around the room and vacuum the area. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was easy and straightforward using the iRobot Home app. We were able, once connected, to speak commands to the i7+ such as "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s preferences and monitoring its performance.
