However, they do have a few flaws that keep them from being our top choice. One of the flaws of the Q5 is its navigation system does not include AI-powered obstacle avoidance. It's also prone to get stuck on socks and shoes and couldn't navigate through rooms with a lot of people well in our tests. Also, it doesn't have cameras that let it see the corners of a room.

It's still a good value for those whose office or home has a lot of unfinished floors and you want to save money. It's also very quiet and can be used when you're at work or school. It lacks the edge-to-edge bare floor vacuuming that is offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 has self-emptying docks, however. If you need to mop, the mopping pad can be replaced with one that is wet in just a few just a few seconds.

It is able to clean floors even after it vacuums. This is a feature we haven't seen in other robotic vacuum/mop combinations.

It's also the only robotic vacuum/mop that scored an absolute 10 out of 10 in our tests. As with other iRobot models like the X40 is user-friendly, with an easy mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant. The only drawback is that the X40 is still a loud unit. This can be a concern in the mornings before work or at night when you are trying to fall asleep.

It's also somewhat expensive, although it's not as expensive as Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 MaxV Ultra, both of which are similarly capable and look better. If you're willing to put up with a bit more noise and some additional cost this is a capable two-in-one that should please almost everyone.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop, with a lot of advanced features that will let you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaner, similar to Ecovacs the top of the line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It features a multi-functional dock that can automatically empty the vacuum's bin, refills the water tank, as well as washes and dry mop pads.

The smart robot vacuums that mop employs the combination of LIDAR and structured light to create floor plans and spot obstacles, navigating more intelligently than some of its premium rivals. It can be used to design cleaning schedules, or to organize an automatic spot-clean. It can also be used to it to prioritize the most soiled areas for greater efficiency. The app also gives access to a host of features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning.

Its shape is more rectangular than other robot vacuums, which means it is able to reach corners and underneath furniture better. It has a powerful 8,000 Pascal suction and clever combs for removing pet hair. You can also set up a spot-clean that will thoroughly clean an area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and less expensive alternative to iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive design, akin to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed to resemble adorable eyes. It is capable of vacuuming but is more prone to get caught on low thresholds and is more noisy than the other top robotic vacuums we've tried. It also has a less user-friendly app and a tiny base station that isn't able to double as a bin for emptying.
