The best robotic mop and vacuum Robot Hoover

The best robot hoover can mop and vacuum without needing your attention. It will leave your floors clean. Its price is affordable and its high-end functions (such as a dirt detector) are a plus.

Check your robot's brushes frequently for tangled debris and hair. Wash them if needed. Some models will automatically empty their dust bin on board into a larger bin at the base, which decreases the amount of fine dust released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 pro

The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive counterpart the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we have tested. They are equipped with top-of-the-line motors which can generate up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. And, like other premium iRobot models (including the top-rated model) they utilize intelligent mapping technology to create detailed floor plans that avoid home-based obstacles like cords and furniture legs. They also come with a feature called carpet boost which boosts the robot's power when it detects the presence of dirt on the carpet, allowing it cleaned quickly.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored extremely well in our tests on floors that were bare and are especially adept at cleaning hair from dogs. However, they do have a few flaws that keep them from being our top pick. One of them is that the Q5's navigation doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance and is therefore prone to get caught up in socks and shoes and couldn't navigate rooms with a lot of people well in our tests. It doesn't also come with a camera to look around corners.

Still, it's very good to consider, particularly if you're looking to save money on an Roomba from iRobot and have a mostly bare-floor home or office. It's also extremely quiet and operates when you're at work or school. It lacks the edge-to-edge bare floor vacuuming that is available in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective in mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes that don't stick well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does come with self-emptying docks, however. And, if you need to, you can switch the mopping pad to dry ones in just a few minutes.

2. IRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming into an elegant, compact package. Its nimble navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it easy to clean and efficient in tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also features a self-emptying dustbin as well as powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robot vacuum best hoover for carpets, although it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mop utilizes sensor technology that can avoid obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the layout of your home over time and provide cleaner and more efficient cleaning. The app lets you set up zones and modify the cleaning schedule. It comes with a battery life that is comparable to other models.

When the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can tell it to pull back and extend its mop. This helps prevent cross contamination. Its flex arm is also great for getting under low-lying furniture and along baseboards. However, it's not equipped with the same washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During tests, X30 Ultra was the quickest robot vacuum/mop that could clean an entire home and had 66 percent of its battery remaining. It did a great cleaning job on a variety of floors and rooms with different flooring types including some area rug. Its obstacle detection was superb and it was able to avoid fake dog turds and socks, shoes and bundles of cables.

It even cleans the floor after it vacuums this feature, which we've not seen on other robot vacuum/mop combinations.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

This mop and vacuum combination is sleek and has a circular design that looks more like the regular Roomba model than the boxy units of the competitors. It's one of our most attractive robot vacuums. The latest flagship model from iRobot is also its smartest. It features advanced features, like enhanced dirt detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that can wash mop pads in a self-cleaning manner).

It's the only robotic vacuum/mop to score 100% in our tests due to a mix of high-tech sensors, which include a camera, structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that is fully autonomously refill and empty its base station and boasts an the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.

Like other iRobot models as well, the X40 is user-friendly, with a simple mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. The only drawback is that the X40 is still a noisy unit. This can be a concern in the mornings before work or in the evening when you are trying to fall asleep.

It's also a bit expensive, but it's not as expensive as the Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are equally powerful and better-looking. This is a two-in-one vacuum that's very capable, but it's going to cost you more and create more noise.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum that mops vacuum and mop with a lot of advanced features to help you get rid of your chores. Similar to Ecovacs range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that can take care of both mopping and vacuuming. It comes with a multifunction dock that automatically emptys the vacuum's dustbin, refills its water tank, washes and dry the mop pads.

The smart robot makes use of LIDAR and structured lighting to draw out floorplans and identify obstacles. It can navigate more efficiently than its premium competitors. It also has a front-mounted camera to detect hazards in real-time, although this wasn't quite foolproof in our testing and was often confused by power cords or other obstructions.

The vacuum has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to finish the job. It also has an attribute called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the vacuum's power and adjusts cleaning frequency for different areas of the house depending on how dirty these areas are.

For larger houses it's worth looking for models that has zone or spot cleaning modes that allow you to instruct the robot to clean one specific area of your home by using the app or voice commands. A stair mode can be useful if you own a number of furniture. Additionally the recharge and resume function that lets your robot vacuum pick up right where it left off is great for busy families.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is more advanced than the price suggests. It's a pro at cleaning, removing 55% of the debris that was found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with a single pad and a rotating motion that cleans better that most mop cleaners for robots that we've tested. It's also highly self-sufficient, with a full-featured app and a self-emptying base that can be washed.

The well-designed iRobot app will guide you through an initial mapping run that gathers information about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you mark on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules or to organize a spot-clean. It can also be used to it to prioritize the most soiled areas to improve performance. The app also provides access to many options, including seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.

Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuum with mop vacuums, meaning it can reach corners and underneath furniture more easily. It also has a powerful suction of 8,000 Pascal suction and combs with intelligent technology for pet hair. You can also set up a spot-clean that will thoroughly clean the area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek, cheaper alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras appear like cute eyes. It's good at vacuuming, but it is more susceptible to be caught by low thresholds and is more noisy than the other top robotic vacuums we've tested. It also has an app that is less intuitive, and a smaller base station that doesn't double as a bin to empty.
