The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.
He evaluates and tests cleaning equipment. His main focus is mopping robots and
automatic vacuum cleaner and mop combinations. Multitaskers can be ideal for those looking to remove mopping from their list of things to do. They are equipped with impressive mapping and obstacle avoidance capabilities, and some wash and refill their own mopping pads to give themselves a hands-off clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model you need to choose if you want a robot vacuum cleaner that also mop. It is smaller than other options which makes it more maneuverable in tight corners or under furniture. It has a 220 degree Lidar which, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, gives it one of my top navigation and avoidance capabilities I've seen in
robot vacuum that vacuums and mops vacuums. It's powered by a 4600mAh battery which can last up to 170 mins when mopping and sucking is set to standard mode. (It can run longer when it is set to turbo). It will even return to its dock to replenish its battery mid-clean.
It's extremely fast and does an excellent job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It can vacuum carpeted rooms fast, and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room and hallways in just one pass. The suction motor's 8,000pa makes short work of picking up sand, dirt and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects carpets and the double side brush helps to remove debris from corners.
The mopping performance, though still impressive, isn't as effective. The rotating mop spins fast and makes use of 2.2lbs to clean dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arm protrudes out a bit more than other robots. This is helpful in difficult corners or on baseboards. Those same front arms can be employed to clean larger pieces of debris, such as broken toys and fallen books.
Another great feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mops I've ever tried. It is quieter and doesn't create more noise when vacuuming or mopping. The only downside is that the S1 Pro must use a exclusive cleaning solution for its mopping function and is separate from the vacuum. It's easy to install and works well however, it's something you'll need to be aware of if you're buying this robot vacuum solely for the reason of mopping.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It is a powerful machine for cleaning with a range of features.
The device is equipped with an impressive and powerful cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensors and an RGB camera to map your home and identify furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean effectively and effectively. This ensures an even and thorough clean, while also being relatively fast.
In terms of mopping, Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads are capable of reaching a wide range of surface areas. This includes baseboards, corners and other difficult to reach areas. The side brush can be stretched to reach the floor near to walls and other fixtures. The mop pads are washable and can be dried to reduce odors and prevent buildup.
App-based customization is another notable feature. The Q Revo lets you adjust the intensity of its suction and select between a back-andforth, or a more randomized pattern. You can also set the number of passes it will make, which will affect how fast the device will move through your home. You can even choose to disable the side brush to prevent damaging rugs and carpets.
The device is costly, but it comes with a lot of smart features. It is important to keep in mind, however, that the device will incur recurring expenses in the form mopping supplies and regular maintenance. For example the brushroll needs to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to 12 months. The filter must be cleaned after 150 hours, and the mop pad needs to be replaced every three to six months.
This
robot vacuum that mops has an excellent rating on Amazon and offers a wide variety of physical automation features. This includes a power button that doubles as a general 'Clean button as well as a Home button that will take it back to its base station after completing the cleaning process. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically empty the trash bin and refills its water tank to mop and washes and dry its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
If you're a professional with a lot of work or someone who wants to have a clean home without spending hours doing chores The Shark Matrix Plus is a solid option. Its incredibly fast performance, sophisticated navigation, and long battery life make it easy to keep a clean home with little effort.
The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot
automatic vacuum and mop robot and mop, that is, it can do both vacuuming and mopping. The robot is divided into two components that include a dry bin as well as a water tank that can be easily snapped in and out and a mopping module that is equipped with microfiber pads. Separate modules for mopping and vacuuming might seem a bit outdated, but they do mean you don't have to think about changing disposable bags or refilling the water tank.
The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming and mopping. Its most impressive feature was its accurate floorplan map, which it uses to determine an outline for cleaning. It was easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture rug, furniture and other obstacles. The app also offers the option of setting "No-Go zones" and virtual barriers, which can help to shield specific areas of your home from being cleaned with mop.
The Matrix Plus also did a surprising job of collecting hair from pets. It was able to capture the majority of hair our cats shed and even got into the nooks and crannies of our stairs, where other robots struggled. Its noise levels were fairly low and there were lovely jingles that signal that it was beginning and getting its work done.
The app was too easy and you had to change the modules every time you switched between vacuuming and mops. The app is not able to save multiple maps. This could be an issue if your home has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a great choice for those who want a device that can vacuum and mop.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that mops in our test, but it comes with some unique features that make it worth taking into consideration. The X1 Omni is notable for its massive dock that serves as an charging base for the robot, a cleaning sink and two water tanks that are 4 liters in size. It also houses the 2.5-liter dust bin as well as the 2.5 milliliter dust bin.
The base has a couple of buttons for control that allow you to manually start cleaning tasks and then recall the robot or use the dock's
auto vacuum and mop-emptying procedure. Hold down two buttons to turn off the child lock. This is a great feature for parents worried about their children messing around with the vacuum.
The Omni Omni like other robotic vacuums, utilizes its camera to identify obstacles and furniture in its path. It will avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.
Unfortunately, this means that the X1 Omni can occasionally become so entangled with obstacles, like an electrical cord dangling across a rug, that it gets stuck and stops working until you remove it manually. Although this is not a common occurrence but it was a very frustrating experience when it happened, especially since the X1 Omni doesn't have a "stuck" status alert in its application.
Another issue that could be a problem is one of the biggest drawbacks is X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming modes during a cleaning session. You'll need to manually swap between the two, which isn't an issue aside from the fact that the mopping pads aren't cleaned and dried between uses and can cause mildew or mold.
On the bright side, the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who conceptualized its sleek, modern-looking base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a big departure from the utilitarian, all-black bases used by competitors like Roborock and iRobot and is a refreshing appearance in a market that is dominated by bulky, boxy units.
