Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

Item upgrade, commonly called "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment boosts the stat linearly.

Players can recycle six items at one time to gain a gauge for each item's upgraded component. The cost of recycling a piece of equipment increases with their rarity and item level.

Upgrade components

In Guild Wars 2, an upgrade of an item can be a method to increase the stats of your armor and weapons. This can be accomplished through a variety of methods such as using upgrade components or increasing an item's rarity or mark level. In addition there are many items that can be reforged, which could increase their stats.

You can purchase upgradeable items throughout the game. They are available throughout all over the world and are rewards for missions. They can also be crafted by players. The majority of upgrade components that are installed into items cannot be removed or replaced without removing them except for legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a glyph or rune you don't want to use but it's not been applied to gear yet, you can transfer the item to a different piece by selecting the Upgrade Glyphs menu in the Glyphs Panel.
