World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a way to increase the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade, it may increase an item's Mark Level or Rarity, and also boost other stats.

Upgrades to gear in The War Within requires a certain number of Flightstones and Crests, and each item comes with an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a certain amount.

Item Level

When an item is upgraded, its basic stats improve in value. This is the sum of an item's upgraded perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be costly, dependent on who you employ and what you decide to do. This is due to how many perks have to be replaced in order for the item to get upgraded.

The level of an item is a widely used measurement of power and is visible on all tooltips of items. It can also be used to limit the amount of PvP gear players can wear since PvP is not available at a lower level. The average item level is listed on the character sheet.

Using the item level will allow players to compare the potency of gear when deciding to purchase or sell. It's a measure of the item's condition and its quality. Comparing items in a vendor's stock can be done using the item upgrader kit level.

On your PC, you can see the level of the item using ALT, or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will show the full description of the item, including its ilvl. It can also be found by hovering over an item with the mouse cursor and entering /itemlevel into chat.

There are several theories about how the item level calculation is made. One theory says that the item level is calculated by a formula that calculates how valuable the stats of an item really are. It considers that different perks are valued differently, and that gems found in sockets increase the value of the item. This can lead to an item's ilvl which is calculated and is usually very close to Blizzard's real item level.

This isn't the only factor that affects the ilvl of an item. The location of where the item was dropped can alter its stats. For instance, it could increase the item's haste or crit score. This means that items that drop at higher levels will have more value than items dropped in lower-level instances.

Item Stats

The stats of an item can make or break an Best item upgrade for players. The game uses a lot of them in different ways to encourage players to use multiple weapons, and prevent one weapon from being "the Best item upgrade." The stat mods on an weapon increase the base stats. These stat mods are then enhanced by a player's level.

Upgrades to an item may boost its stats. The costs for upgrades are determined by the rarity of the item. For example, a grey or white item will only be upgraded once, while an item with the rare levels will be upgraded multiple times with higher prices.

Affixes can also be used to alter the stats of an item. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player and they come in all shapes and sizes. The affixes can be used to give the item additional damage, or give a specific ability to the item (such as reviving the dead or decreasing the duration of cooldowns), or make the item unique by putting a special name to the item.

At present, all affixes can be rerolled by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button, which is accompanied by circles arrows. It will cost a set amount in gold and items. These can be used as upgrade gauges, just like the other rerolling methods.

Players can upgrade an item with specific stats or reroll the affixes. The range of stats determined by the item's level. However every item will contain at least one stat in that range unless they are an exclusive item, or a God Roll from a raid boss.

Another thing that could be altered by adding an option to upgrade the equipment without rolling the affixes or deciding which stats to increase. Like the base equipment, this will have to be done per item, and the item comparison interface would not display all the possible stats at once.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player stacks up to increase the odds of item discoveries, the properties spawned on loot drops, and the intensity of the properties. However, it does not directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It simply gives the player a chance to upgrade their equipment in earlier waves and is thus more valuable in the initial game run than in later ones, as most players prioritize more powerful weapon scaling and defenses over the raw damage gain.

Luck can also increase the chances of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade chance that increases with each level of the item and can be further enhanced by using an anti-material, such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

The shields, armor and weapons have the default Luck value of 40. These items can be improved with golden ingots or spined leather (depending on the material they are made of) to add another 40 luck or to increase the luck of the item to 140.

Additionally, certain items, like the Hollow weapon, which is infused with Hollow, can be equipped to increase the damage dealt by any damage-dealing skill by 5%. These items are available in the shop, or they can be made using the correct ingredients.

Item Failure

Upgrades to items are costly and not every upgrade will be successful. Cash shop items can be used to boost the success rate of an upgrade, or to protect players from losing their items if it is not successful.

The success rate of an upgrade is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the chance of successfully upgrading that item and can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limitations to the extent to which the success rates can be improved and the probability of a failed upgrade item cannot exceed 100%..

The luck of an item can influence the success of an upgrade. Each item has an overall success rate of 25 percent, and every item with Luck increases the chance of success by 5percent.

The item upgrade overlays are rendered above items in the inventory. This could obscure enchantment effects and other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
