WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades give you boost in specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of the item by +3. Each upgrade also increases a random substat.
Upgraded gear generally sees greater value for trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or very high stat variation (like Eth titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect model.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. However, the item that is used to
upgrade item will be consumed forever and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to the enchantments.
You can upgrade your gear at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear current, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks.
The cost of upgrades will depend on the current
item upgrade level of the item being upgraded, but will always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment from other sources. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase tools, armor, weapon, and accessory upgrades. They are purchased by players from NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for various currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased it can be used on any weapon or tool using the help of button, which displays a preview of the item level upgrade (

The cost of upgrading is based on the slot of the item and the current level of the
item upgrading as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than bracers or gloves, for example. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with some upgrades offering discounts to lower the cost of the Flightstones or crests used. Once an item is upgraded to a certain amount it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.
item upgrades upgraders can be found in a variety of locations including the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs offer an upgrade coupon as well as the chance to obtain a new recipe. The discount for upgrades increases depending on the amount of items that are being upgraded. It can also be boosted by requiring players to complete specific achievements or quests.
Unlike Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II, there is no upgrader for items in the beginning of Icewind Dale. Instead, the NPCs that can be used to upgrade require a variety of means, which is both an improvement but also a drawback.
In Season 3, a number of new features were added to the upgrade system. After a player has earned an upgrade to a particular level of an item for a specific armor slot, upgrading further items to the same level will cost less even in the event that they belong to an entirely different set of gear.
The discount is applicable to all accounts. In the same way, the amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is also reduced and is not available until players achieve certain milestones in their achievements.
Crests
Players have several options for upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more special, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are a key element of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1 and are available in 4 ranks.
First, you must be aware that Crests are only available to equipment that is of a particular rank. Each rank has a different upgrade path. The easiest and most straightforward upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complicated upgrade requires up to 20 crests, contingent on the kind of equipment being upgraded.
Players can obtain crests by working through content that is of the appropriate level, whether that means walking around and doing outdoor activities for gear of lower tiers, dungeons or raids of any difficulty for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons for endgame gear. These crests can then be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade paths and steps.
The new currency system isn't difficult to use, however it brings some changes to the process of upgrading. When a piece has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it no longer requires Flightstones. This is to allow players to get their gear up to the highest level possible for all their characters instead of relying only on seasonal loot.
Another important modification is that crests have one purpose, so it's important to use them wisely. It's
Best item upgrader to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the highest-quality gear you can find, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is particularly true for items such as trinkets and rings that take up multiple slots. The discount for the entire account will only apply when all slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
