WoW Upgrades - The
item level upgrade Upgrader
Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each
upgrade items increases item level by +3. A random extra substat is also boosted alongside every upgrade.
The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless it is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like the eth Titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as useful for those with lower requirements due to the requirement to roll a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The
item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create the enchantments.
The upgrader is located in all major cities and can be visited at any time to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader once every couple of weeks to ensure that your equipment is up to date.
The cost of upgrading will vary based on the current item level of the item being upgraded, but will always be less expensive than purchasing new gear from other sources. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to improve the quality of weapons, tools, armor, and other items. They can be purchased by players from NPCs of item upgraders in a variety of currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any tool, weapon or armor. button, which displays an image of the item when it is upgraded in the event that the player has enough materials.
The cost of upgrading is based on the slot of the
item upgrader and current item level as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than bracers or gloves, for example. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with certain upgrades offering discounts to lower the cost of Flightstones or crests used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain amount it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.
A lot of locations offer upgraders for items which include the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon and the possibility of obtaining the latest recipe. The discount on upgrades increases as more items are upgraded. It can be increased if players complete certain achievements or quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the start, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are only accessible through a variety means. This is both a benefit as well as an issue.
In Season 3, several new features have been added to the upgrade system. After a player has upgraded to a certain level of item for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same item level, will cost less. This is true even if those items are from a different set of gear.
The amount of Valorstones required for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is available across all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is reduced as well, but is only available when certain milestones have been reached.
Crests
Players have a number of options for upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are a currency that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specific and are used for specific
item level upgrade level upgrades. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1, and come in 4 ranks.
First, you should know that Crests are only available to gear that is of a particular rank. Each rank comes with an upgrade path that is different. The simplest and easiest upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade could require as much as 20 crests, depending on the type or gear that is being upgraded.
Players can earn crests through working through content at the appropriate level. This could be done by engaging in outdoor activities or taking on dungeons and raids of all difficulties to get equipment of lower tier or Mythicbosses of raids or dungeons with a heroic difficulty to obtain endgame gear. These crests are then exchanged with an upgrader for the item like Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and paths.
Utilizing these new currencies isn't too difficult however, the system does introduce some modifications to the upgrade process. Once a piece of gear attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it will no longer require Flightstones. This change allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.
It's also essential to use crests wisely, as they have only one purpose. It is best to put your Whelpling-rank Crests on the top-quality equipment that you can find and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is especially relevant for items like trinkets and rings that take up multiple slots. The discount on the account will only be applicable if all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality gear.
