The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored excellently in our tests of floors with no carpet They are also adept in removing dog hair. However, they do have a few flaws, however, that prevent them from being our top option. One of the flaws of the Q5 is that its navigation system does not include AI-powered obstacle avoidance. It's thus susceptible to get stuck on shoes and socks and could not navigate through rooms with a lot of people efficiently during our tests. It also doesn't have a camera that can see around corners.

It's still a good value, especially if your home or office has a lot of bare floors and you're looking to save money. It's also very quiet and works while you're at work or in school. The only thing it's missing that you can't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming of floors with no floor. It's also less effective when it comes to mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 comes with a self-emptying cradle, however. And, if you need to, you can swap the mopping pad for dry ones in a matter of just a few seconds.

2. IRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive vacuuming and mopping capabilities into a compact, sleek package. Its agile navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it quick to clean and efficient at taking on larger particles, such as pet hair. It also comes with self-emptying dustbins, powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robot hoover for carpets, although it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.

This high-performing combination vacuum and mop uses advanced sensor technology to stay clear of obstacles and pet waste, and it will learn the layout of your home over time to ensure more efficient cleaning. The app allows you to customize zones and change the cleaning schedule. It has a battery life that is similar to other models.

You can tell the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and to extend them when in a room with carpet to prevent cross-contamination. The flex arm is perfect to get under furniture with low levels and along baseboards. It doesn't perform as well on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop that could complete an entire house, finishing with the battery at 66 percent left. It also did an excellent job cleaning a range of floors and rooms with mixed flooring types, including certain area carpets. Its obstacle detection was superb and it stayed clear of fake dog turds, socks, shoes, and bundles of cables.

It's a bit more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but it has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can also clean the floor even after it has vacuumed. This is something we haven't seen before on other robotic vacuum/mop combinations.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

This mop and vacuum combination is sleek and has a circular look that looks much like a Roomba unit than the boxy units of the competitors. It's among our most attractive looking robot vacuums. The newest model from iRobot happens to be its smartest model, with features that are cutting-edge like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can autonomously wash mop pads).

It's also the only robotic vacuum/mop that scored a perfect 10 out of 10 in our tests. This is due to the combination of high-tech sensors including a structured lighting system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop mops.

As with other iRobot models, the X40 is user-friendly, offering an intuitive mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. The only real drawback is that it's still quite loud which could be problematic if you run it in the morning prior to work or in the evening as you attempt to sleep.

It's also quite expensive, although it's not as expensive as Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 MaxV Ultra, both of which are equally powerful and more attractive. It's a dual-purpose automatic vacuum and mop that's extremely powerful however, it's more expensive and produce more noise.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the line robot vacuum cleaners reviews vacuum and mop. It has a number of advanced features that will make you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning device that is similar to Ecovacs' top-of-the-range X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. Its vacuum cleaner has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to complete the task. It also features "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates how hard the vacuum works and also alters the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house according to the amount of dirt they are.

For larger homes, it's worth opting for one that has zone or spot cleaning modes that allow you to tell the robot to clean one particular area of your house using the app or voice controls. A stairway mode is useful if you own a large furniture. Additionally the recharge and resume function that lets your robot vacuum pick up right where it left off is ideal for busy families.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is a more efficient cleaner than you'd expect from its price tag. It does a stellar job cleaning, removing 55% of debris in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses using a single pad and a rotating motion which is cleaner than the majority of the mop cleaners with robots that we've tested. And it's highly self-sufficient with a full-featured app and an auto-emptying, washable base.

The iRobot application is designed to guide you through the mapping process that collects data on your floorplan, as well as any "no go" areas that you've marked on the map. You can use it to make cleaning schedules, set up an area for cleaning or to prioritize your most filthy rooms for better performance. The app has a range of features, including seasonal suggestions, customized mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

Its shape is more rectangular than other robot vacuums, meaning it can get to corners and underneath furniture better. It also has a strong 8000 Pascal suction and intelligent combs for hair of pets. It also has the ability to set up a spot cleaning that intensely cleans a localized area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD offers a sleeker and less expensive alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's more appealing, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras look like cute eyes. It's good at vacuuming but is more prone to get caught on low thresholds and is a bit louder than the other top robotic vacuums we've examined. It also comes with an app that's not as intuitive and has a tiny base station that can't double as a bin for emptying.
