Luck can also increase the chances of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This isn't to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading, which increase with each item level. It is also possible to be increased with the use of anti-materials such as a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

Weapons, armor, and shields can be created or spawned with the Luck property, which has an initial value of 40. These items can be upgraded with golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the item's material type) to grant an additional +40 Luck, or to increase the existing Luck of an item, up to 140.

Certain items, like the weapon that is infused with hollow can also be crafted to increase the damage of any ability that causes damage by 5percent. These items can be purchased from the shop, or they can be made using the correct ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades work. Cash shop items can be used to boost the chances of success for an upgrade or to stop players from losing their items if it fails.

The success rate of an upgrade can be seen in the Honing UI. The percentage is the chances of successfully upgrading that item and can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limits to how much success rates can be increased, and the overall chance of a failed upgrade cannot exceed 100%..

The Luck of an item can also influence the effectiveness of an upgrade. All items have an average success rate of 25 percent, and each item with Luck increases this chance by five percent.

The item upgrade overlays are displayed above items in the inventory. This could obscure enchantment effects and other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
