The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming capabilities into a sleek, compact package. Its agile navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it simple to clean and efficient at dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also features a self-emptying dustbin as well as powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's among our most appealing looking robot vacuums. The newest model from iRobot is its most advanced and has advanced features like enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot vacuum cleaner reviews that can wash its own mop pads).

It's the only robotic vacuum/mop that has a perfect 10 in our evaluations due to a mix of high-tech sensors, including cameras, a structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mops.

The X40, like other iRobot products, is easy to operate. It has a simple mobile app interface that integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. It comes with a multi-function dock that automatically empties the vacuum's dustbin, refills its water tank and cleans and dry its mop pads.

The smart robot uses an array of LIDAR and structured light to create floor plans and spot obstacles, and navigates more effectively than its more expensive competitors. It also has a camera mounted on the front for real-time detection of hazards, although this wasn't quite foolproof in our testing and was occasionally confused by power cords or other obstructions.

The vacuum cleaner comes with the capacity to suction up to 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to accomplish the task. It also comes with an option called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the vacuum's power and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the home based on how dirty those areas tend to be.

If you have a bigger home, it's worth selecting a model with a the option of cleaning zones or spots.
