Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and clean offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris and wet mess in one go without the need to switch devices. They also can save space when compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living areas.
A good combination bot should have impressive navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models that have docks that let them automatically empty their bins, replenish their water tanks and wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has a lot to offer for its relatively modest price, and it's one of the easiest robots we've tested to install. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and a quick-start guide will have you up and running with a clean, complete dust bag, hard floor solution and water tank in a matter of minutes.
The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that is able to clean up a storm and vacuums well too. The mops spin at high speeds and apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, making short work of dirt, pet hair and dried sticky spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, as well as a selection of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app that lets you select the type of cleaning you'd like to do for each room.
You can, for example ask the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly but leave the spare bedroom alone. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and smart navigation tech are excellent too, with the robot being able to detect tiny obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. The only drawback is that the robot tends to hit walls and objects at a high speed. However looking at the history of cleaning on the app will tell you exactly what the robot completed, where it's going, and which obstacles he has run into or avoided.
A large LCD screen on the docking station tells the maintenance tasks that are required including emptying the debris tray and rinsing its dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent automatically into the water tank with a 600ml bottle of eufy's own solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop come with plenty of running time, with the mop capable of running for 184 minutes in Quiet mode, while the vacuum is can last for 136 minutes in standard mode before needing to recharge or return to the base to replenish. You can view the entire cleaning information in the app, which is clearly laid out and is easy to comprehend although we would have liked to be able to differentiate between a vacuum and mop and
best automatic vacuum clean when looking at a cleaned area in the cleaning history.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's most popular robot vacuum and mop. In contrast to the model of last year, this one features a double agitator in its mopping pad, which greatly improves carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has improved suction power, allowing it to pull up small hairs and other debris that other
robotic hoovers cleaners may be unable to pick up.
Like the other two Roborock models I've tested it also has a 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology to can help it avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and incorporates a dual-camera that can identify objects, determining if they're walls or other surfaces. It then can automatically alter its path and clean them without skipping a beat.
This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed however, it's also the most packed with features. Its sleek, angular style is eye-catching and it has only three physical buttons that include the power button which also resumes cleaning; a mop button that doubles as a child lock and a home button that can return the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml trash bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank automatically emptys and the bin automatically refills.
The only drawback I could find with this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't movable. While you can swap out the mopping cloth (if needed), it's a pain to remove the mount to wash manually. I've observed that any carpet that the robot crosses will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on the mount, which can cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart features which include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can set up and manage these through the Roborock app, which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor the battery life and maintain your components. You'll need to go through a few steps to enable voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering the performance otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40
robot mop vacuum and mop is an industry leader with its innovative features, top suction power and cutting-edge mowing abilities. Its smart design allows users to tailor and effectively clean while saving time.
The X40 robot vacuum Cleaner (
git.peaksscrm.com) is the first to feature 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful options available. This powerful vacuum can clear up pet hair dust, crumbs and any other dry mess. It also has a high-quality mop that makes hard floors sparkling clean, even with a wet pad. The X40 is also extremely quiet when in operation, with only occasional bursts during mode changes or self-maintenance.
Another noteworthy feature is the X40's expandable and liftable side brushes, which lets it get into difficult-to-access corners as well as clean curved furniture like table and chairs' legs. It also lets the robot to get under low-profile furniture, making it a great choice for small apartments and condos with limited space. The side brush automatically tilts down when it detects wet spots. This is a nice feature that enables the X40 to prevent damage to floors from repeated back-and-forth movements.
Unlike other robots, which are limited to one task, the X40 can vacuum and mop simultaneously. It can also be programmed to skip areas with carpets and mop only hard floors, and reverse the process. It can be controlled using the Dreame app or by using Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for a seamless voice-controlled operation.
The app is simple and user-friendly and the X40's clever features are easy to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at certain times. It is also possible to alter suction power, alter modes, view floor plans and maps, and control mopping settings. The X40 will also monitor its progress and notify you when it's done.
The X40 is easy to clean and has numerous convenient features, making it an ideal choice for busy families. Its docking station automatically empties the dustbin into a large 3.2 L bin, cleans the mop pads, and refills them with fresh water and cleaning solution. It can also detect if the mop pad is at its capacity to the max and alert you to the situation prior to it bursting.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that is among the most expensive available however, it comes with a lot of additional features that make it stand out. The mops come with a brand new feature called Smart DuoScrub. It makes use of two mops with high-speed motors to clean floors more thoroughly than the conventional method, and has an impressive suction power of 7,000Pa. This is much higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can remove pet hair and other small dirt particles as well as picking up spills and wet spots.
The mop is cleaned and dried in the base station each time they are used. This is an excellent feature because it prevents the growth of mould and unpleasant odours in the storage area, and it also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature that we haven't seen before on other robot vacuum and mop models. It could be a great way to keep your home clean longer.
There are plenty of choices, including the possibility to schedule cleanings and adjust preferences. These can be set via the app, or via buttons on the unit itself. The app is simple to use and offers a variety of options for customising your cleaning routine. It also comes with several functions that are not available on other robots, like the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction whenever it detects dust particles.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen on the market, with metallic and white colors that looks classy and sophisticated. It's a bit heavier at 4kg than some of the other robots listed on this list but it's not too heavy. It feels solid and well-built. The mopping design is also excellent, and the double rotating mop is great for hard floors as well as in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to reach up to 2mm below baseboards.
