The item upgrader adds a brand new widget to the top of the Angel and Cash Upgrade windows. This Manager is priced at 33 billion Angel Investors and offers no gameplay benefit aside from making it easier to view and purchase upgrades.
It boosts
There are a myriad of boosts available with an item upgrader. These can include a variety of stats, in addition to a number of extra bonuses. These bonuses can be applied to weapons or armor, as well as trinkets. They can be used to improve the capabilities of an individual, or they can be used to add an element of variety to an existing build.
The World of Warcraft upgrade system allows players to
upgrade items their equipment by paying currency to an upgrader for their item. The system was introduced in Mists of Pandaria and was continued with the arrival of Warlords of Draenor. It is a convenient way to increase the quality of your gear, allowing you to bypass the monotonous grind of questing and avoiding many wipes in Mythicand dungeons.
When an
item upgrade is upgraded its basic type will change. Upgrades to a normal item produce an Exceptional variant, while upgrades to an Exceptional version create an Elite. The item will keep its previous upgrade stats, but will also receive an additional bonus from its new base type. This bonus will be randomly selected from the following options: the chance to acquire a weapon with an increased damage range, a chance to obtain an improved reload speed, or a chance to acquire a higher max defense roll.
The amount of extras you can get by upgrading is contingent on the amount of upgrades done. Each upgrade will boost the additional benefits by an increment of 1, up to a maximum of 3. Additionally, each upgrade will also increase the main stat by 1.
Certain upgrades also give a secondary random boost in addition to stat increases. These boosts are extremely beneficial and should be taken into consideration when deciding on which items to upgrade. Certain boosts can only be used in certain builds (such a Whistan's Shield for FB Sorcs) Some are beneficial to collectors.
Certain items come with inherent boo that is less useful when upgraded, like the Goldwrap which provides additional slots for potion. These are often upgraded to add value to a near-perfect or perfect item.
Costs
Upgrades have certain costs associated with them. The first is the cost of performing the upgrade. This cost can be expensive and is dependent on the new level of the item as well as the number of perks it gets. Upgrades to a higher level (such as Explorer to Champion or Veteran to Heroic) can be costly.
The other is the cost of the materials required to upgrade. These items are typically Power Dices (dropped from monsters 21+), Minerals and Erons or specific Mists of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor Quests. These materials can be found in the inventory of an Upgrade Vendor.
Upgrades to an item are complicated and takes time. It could take as long as 8 hours, depending on the size of an upgrade. The base stats of the upgraded item are calculated based on the new ilvl and other properties. This calculation determines the new Armor Class bonuses, damage dice, as well as other important statistics. In some instances, an upgrade can grant additional perks. These perks are listed on a table.
In rare cases, the upgrade will replace only the highest-costing bonuses. Sometimes, the upgrader will make other adjustments to an item, for example, changing the type of weapon damage or removing or adding an unwieldy or operative property. These modifications are based on an item's ilvl and may require special materials, like adamantine.
Success Rate
The upgrade of an item is dependent on the chance. Like any random system there is a chance that it won't work. There are a few methods to increase your odds of success. This includes using an Upgrade Pity or adding extra materials to your upgrade.
The Upgrade Pity can be purchased from the NPC for smithing in Lost Ark. It increases the chance of a successful upgrade by a certain percentage. This is similar to the luck bonus that certain items offer however it is more stable. It can be added to any weapons or armor and can be used three times.
You can also add additional materials to the upgrade to increase the chances of success. They are displayed in a separate window, above the + button. There are some limitations. The maximum amount of material you can add is displayed directly above the + button.
A Blacksmith Blessing, or an upgraded version thereof can be used to increase the odds of an upgrade succeeding. This item can be useful in the event that your item or weapon is nearing or has reached the highest level of its level. This item lets you upgrade the equipment to the next tier without risking its breaking.
If an upgrade fails the upgrade will be reversed to its previous state. This is typically an error, but it could also be an upgrade. Keep an upgrade in reserve until you are nearing the maximum level of an item.
There are several items in the Kafra shop that can be used to boost the likelihood of an upgrade succeeding. You can increase the chances of success by upgrading equipment repeatedly using HD Oridecon and HD Elunium. The chance of success will be increased if you increase your chances of receiving a Double Mint by Shoe-Minting five times.
Failure Rate
The item upgrader allows players to add a second card slot to their equipment. These slots can be used to apply an enchantment or upgrade an item. It is important to remember that not all items can be upgraded. The enchantment and upgrade rate is based on the item's rank. The higher the rank of the item, the more Zeny and items will be required to upgrade it.
This system can be quite expensive, especially for high-level equipment. It can cost upwards of 100,000 z and 100 Carnium to upgrade a weapon or armor. The rate of success decreases as you progress in rank. You can increase the chance of upgrading an item by using cash shop items.
